Newcastle still have the chance of European Football if results go their way, but they will simply be focussing on the task at hand, and that is to get three points out of their final fixture of the season. Without these three points, their season will be complete without European Football next season. I have some betting suggestions here but let's take a look at the credentials of both teams first.

Brentford are safe for another season in the Premier League but I must say I have been disappointed with them for the most part. I thought they were going to kick on from last season's performance but they really have taken a step in the wrong direction and some might say they are fortunate to still be in the Premier League. They are safe and don’t have anything to play for other than pride. It’s hard to weigh up their chances but I do think it’s a big as to see them winning this despite being at home.

Newcastle have one game left to bag themselves European Football for next season but they will need other results to go their way. Newcastle have been very up and down this year and even if they do manage to get the European spot, they will need to improve a fair amount next season. For this game though with so much on the line for Newcastle I expect them to start fast and I feel they will need to score first if they are to take the win here. It’s going to be no easy game for them and considering the form of Newcastle has been very hit and miss, they will need to be at the top of their games on Sunday.

Head to Head

The head to head record between these two sides is all in Newcastle's favour having won the last 4 meetings between the two, but I don’t think this makes it a formality that Newcastle win here. I am deeply concerned about their ability to back up performances and the added pressure may not help Newcastle in this game. It’s closer than what the head to heads suggest this time around.

We have a really exciting game to watch here and it’s vital that Newcastle get the 3 points. My issue is that they have been ever so inconsistent this season and in my opinion, they have become an unreliable team when it comes to backing them to win big games. I don’t think this game is as clear cut as the bookies seem to make it.

Now that we have had a look at both sides. It’s clear that Newcastle are in the better position this season but they have blown a lot of good opportunities and I think Brentford may be able to take something from this game. I don’t think for one minute that it is a given for Newcastle to turn up and play well and I have been very disappointed by their lack of creativity in the back end of the season. I am going to use the outright market to make my betting tip.

Newcastle may be favourites to take the 3 points here with so much on the line for them but this isn’t how I see the game at all. Newcastle have really struggled in the big games from the very start of the season and I think the added pressure of needing the 3 points is going to go against them.

They have struggled to capitalise on opportunities all season long and they have had a lack of creativity up front too. Brentford however haven’t exactly fired this season but they are in good form currently and I think they have enough class to keep Newcastle at bay here. I think the most likely outcome of this fixture is going to be a draw at 29/10. For me this is where the value is.
