The Premier League continues this weekend, with two teams at the right end of the Premier League table facing off. For today’s betting tip, we’ll be focusing on the important fixture in the Premier League this weekend between Brighton and Hove Albion and Manchester City at the Amex Stadium.
Brighton and Hove Albion have quietly strung together a nice unbeaten run in recent weeks. Graham Potter’s side are five straight without defeat, including wins over Leicester and Brentford, but they are facing their toughest test of the season this weekend.
For their toughest test, they will continue to be without both Danny Welbeck and Steve Alzate for extended periods. However, Brighton’s squad will be bolstered by the return to fitness of defender Adam Webster who could return to the bench.
Whilst Brighton are surprising everybody, Manchester City are playing how people expect - very well. They exited their games against Chelsea and Liverpol with four points out of six, before defeating Burnley at the Etihad to lift themselves to third in the Premier League.
Despite their good form, Manchester City are still struggling with the striker position. Makeshift striker Ferran Torres suffered a long-term injury whilst Gabriel Jesus was on international duty and didn’t land in the UK. The Brazilian could return this weekend depending on fitness.
Manchester City are a fearful opponent for anybody in the Premier League. This was true for Brighton as they had lost every single time to the Manchester outfit since their promotion in 2017.
However, the Seagulls got the better of Manchester City for the first time during the last campaign. Graham Potters side won at the Amex in a 3-2 thriller which ended their barren spell against Manchester City but they’ll need to be at their best to recreate that victory.
As previously mentioned, Brighton would need to recreate last year's heroics if they were to pick up a result on Saturday afternoon. With Manchester City’s recent record against Brighton - a 5-0 and 4-0 victory in the 2019/20 season - they should win this game at the Amex.
So, despite Brighton’s incredible start, we’re predicting a Manchester City victory to nil at 13/10 with 888Sport.
