A bit of Blue Monday Night Football for you this week, as we bring you our top tips for Chelsea vs Everton.
Chelsea are chasing a Merseyside double after dispatching Liverpool with a 1-0 thanks to a goal from Mason Mount and a well-executed game plan that exploited Liverpool’s high line. The win means Tuchel’s unbeaten run continues, however he has yet to settle on a regular starting 11 and system. Having missed out on Tuchel’s first game in charge, Mount seems to have nailed down his place in the attacking line and Kante has come back to his best.
Everton snuck passed relegation-bound West Brom on Thursday thanks to a single goal from Richerlison. The Toffees have now won their last three games on the bounce and sit just one point behind their hosts on Monday with a game in hand. If they can get something at Stamford Bridge, then they should be confident of a result against Burnley on March 13 to climb into the top four - but West Ham are hot on their heels.
Chelsea only have won win over Everton in their last six, however it was an emphatic 4-0 at the Bridge exactly a year ago to the day of Monday’s match. The Blues will therefore be hoping they can market the anniversary of that result with a similar performance and result. Aside from that result though, Everton have won three of their last four against Chelsea, and there as been a clean sheet in five of the last six meetings.
Five of the last six meetings between these sides has delivered a clean sheet at least at one end of the park. Moreover, both these side have gone three games without conceding. Chelsea have slightly more momentum and quality, therefore we’re backing a home win to nil @ 7/5 with 888sport.
