Chelsea welcome top of the table and reigning champions Manchester City to Stamford Bridge on Sunday for what promises to be an entertaining fixture! Chelsea have been a little bit up and down this season but they come into this off the back of thumping Tottenham 4-1 away from home which definitely gives them hope here.
That being said Ladbrokes have priced the home team up at 17/5 whilst the reigning champions Manchester City are just ¾ to take the three points away back to the Etihad. I have some suggested betting predictions for this fixture but before we get on to those, let’s take a look at the two teams.
Chelsea have picked up just 5 points at home in this season's premier league and are going to need a big turnaround if they are to get anything from their home game this week. They have seemingly struggled to keep the ball out of their own net too and are really going to need to tighten things up at the back. That being said, last weekend Chelsea managed to beat Tottenham 4-1 away and that could be a potential turning point for them this season. They are currently 10th in the league and will need to start picking up some wins on a more regular basis.
Man City find themselves back at the top of the premier league this week and I think they are going to be very hard to stop at Stamford Bridge this weekend. They haven’t been at full strength this season but still hold plenty of strong attacking options and this is ultimately why I think they will remain champions again this season. The depth in class within their squad is superb and they will be very hard to beat here despite playing away from home.
Chelsea dont have the strongest record when it comes to playing Manchester City in the premier league and have actually lost the last four meetings between the two without returning a single goal, but the game prior to that, Chelsea did win 2-1. I don’t think you need to look into the head to heads this week to see who is the strongest team but I would hope to see Chelsea get a goal against City this weekend.
Manchester City have a dominant record over Chelsea in recent years and they are going to be very hard to beat again. I’m going to use the correct score market this week for my
betting tips.
The final Premier League fixture of the week looks like it is going to be a really good game but do Chelsea have enough firepower and enough strength at the back to stop Man City taking the 3 points back to the Etihad? Both teams played well in their last fixtures but this is going to be a test for both teams and looks like we have a great game in store.
Now that we have had a good look at the form of the two teams it’s decided to make those predictions. Chelsea played really well to beat Tottenham last week and will fancy their chances this week to take something from the game, but I think that whatever they do, Man City will have more to offer and will inevitably take all of the beating.
I do think Chelsea are going to be able to get on the scoresheet but do I see them stopping the Manchester City forward? No I don't think they will have way too much fire power. It may take Manchester City a while to break down Chelsea but ultimately I think they will prove too good. 3/4 is the right price for Manchester City but it is short. Perhaps the angle here is a correct score of 2-1 to the away team at 7/1.
