Whilst only one game occurs in the Premier League this weekend, the FA Cup continues with plenty of teams dreaming of a trip to Wembley. For today’s betting tip, we’ll be focusing on Frank Lampard’s inaugural game as Everton boss against Thomas Frank’s Brentford at Goodison Park.
As previously mentioned, this game will be Frank Lampard’s first game in charge of Everton. The Toffees finally sacked Rafa Benitez after slipping to 16th in the Premier League, but they’ll hope to advance in the FA Cup after sneaking past Hull City the round prior.
They’ll also welcome some new players for Saturday’s encounter. Both Dele Alli and Donny Van De Beek joined from Tottenham and Manchester United respectively, and they both could make their debuts against Brentford.
Whilst Everton are entering a period of transition, Brentford have proven to be a stable outfit during Thomas Frank’s first Premier League campaign. The Bees are comfortably midtable, and an FA Cup run could place a nice bow on their season.
Brentford will also welcome a new face on Saturday. After his heartbreaking exit from Euro 2020, Christian Eriksen has returned to football to join Brentford on a six-month deal. The Danish magician could be a part of their FA Cup squad.
These two don’t play very often. However, history suggests that Everton tend to pick up the victory when they play Brentford at home. They haven’t lost to the Bees at home since 1946 - winning the last two at home by an 11-1 aggregate.
This season, Thomas Frank’s side got the better of Everton at the Brentford Community Stadium. An early Ivan Toney penalty proved the difference between the two sides, meaning Brentford haven’t lost against Everton since 1954.

This game could go either-way. Everton have been poor all season, whilst Brentford are suffering from four-straight defeats in the Premier League. We think that losing streak extends to five, and Everton enjoy the new manager ‘bounce’ and pick up the win at Goodison. Therefore, we are suggesting an Everton win at 23/20 with Unibet.
