On Sunday Everton play hosts to Chelsea at two o’clock and this looks like it could go either way. Everton may be down in 18th but they have been playing decent enough football to think they can get something out of this game for sure.
Chelsea are up in 10th at the moment but they look vulnerable at the back and this would be a slight concern for them. Everton are 11/5 to win at home whilst Chelsea are 6/5 to win on their visit to Goodison Park. Let’s have a look at some of the credentials of the two teams and then we will get on to some betting suggestions.
Everton have done well to maintain some level of form considering they have been deducted 10 points and I actually think they are going to be tough to beat this week. They have only been beaten once in their last 5 games and are grinding out wins well just as they did last week against Forest. Despite their league position not looking ideal, they are playing good enough football currently that gives them a good opportunity here.
Chelsea visit Goodison Park this weekend and even though they are 8 places ahead of Everton, the form of the Chelsea team does worry me. They don’t seem to gel too well and this has shown with some ropey results this season and Chelsea are going to need to be in top form if they are going to beat Everton this weekend. We have a decent game on our hands, but Chelsea do feel risky to back as your short price favourites away from home.
The head to heads between these two teams are pretty level and it’s hard to split them on that basis. What I do take from the long list of head to heads though is that Everton have a really good home record against Chelsea and that does go in their favour for this weekend’s clash.
Chelsea have opened up as your favourites to beat Everton away at Goodison Park this weekend but Everton are playing some good football this weekend and look quite a big price to win at home. I am going for a straight win in this game.
Everton have been playing some very solid football and they are going to create plenty of chances against Chelsea which gives them a real shout this weekend. Chelsea are quite a short price to beat them considering they have been very hit and miss themselves but either way, this encounter is going to be a close one.
I don’t think there is much between Everton and Chelsea this weekend and the price discrepancy is too big between the two teams. I know they are at different spots in the league right now but Everton are playing some solid football and they have a really strong home record against Chelsea so I think the 11/5 for an Everton win is worth a punt here.
