Everton welcome Tottenham to Goodison Park for the early kick off on Saturday and it is a very important game for both teams. They find themselves in very different positions in the table, but both teams will be desperate for the 3 points this weekend.
Tottenham will want to continue their good form as they chase Champions League football, whilst Everton on the other hand are trying to ensure they don’t finish in the relegation zone after being deducted points earlier on in the season. This ought to be a great fixture.
Everton are having a very difficult season considering they had a deduction of 10 points and their form has been poor of late it must be said. They actually had a really strong start to the season and played really good football but the slight drop in their recent performances has them in a pressured situation nearer the bottom of the table. This week against Tottenham they are going to need to find their early season form if they plan on taking all 3 points at home.
Tottenham have been playing much better football than what Everton have shown of late but the issue is that Tottenham have been struggling away from home and they will need to bring their home form with them to Goodison Park this weekend. It is a very important game for Tottenham, they will want to keep the pressure on those above them in the table and it will be a big 3 points for them away from home.
The head to heads between these two sides have always been quite tight with a large majority finishing in a draw but Tottenham do have the edge of late winning 3 of the 4 meetings between the two. There have been plenty of draws too, but Everton haven’t beat Tottenham since 2020 and will need to turn things around here.
With the form of the two teams currently you would have to say Tottenham are the right favourites and Everton are going to need to find some form to take anything from this fixture. Tottenham are clearly playing the better football of the two at the minute also, and Everton are up against it here unless they can recapture some of their early season form.
We have a decent game here between Everton and Tottenham but I think they are both priced up incorrectly. There is a big difference in the two teams' quality on the pitch at the moment and I can only see this fixture going one way. I will use the outright market to make my betting suggestion for this week.
Despite the bookies having these two teams priced up closely in the market, I would actually have Tottenham much shorter here. You can get 6/4 about them winning away from home and the difference between the two sides currently is massive.
Everton have really lost their form in the last month or so and they won’t get anything out of the game playing like they have and they will really need to turn this around to get anything out of this game. I’m not sure I can see that happening though after their 0-0 draw last week and would definitely have Tottenham nearer the even money mark so at 6/4, I am happy to take a punt here.
