Fulham 2026/27 Betting Preview

Publish Date: 11/08/2026

Fulham head into the 2026/27 Premier League campaign as one of the favourites to be relegated to the Championship.

Aside from the three recently promoted teams, only Sunderland are shorter in this market, but with Alvaro Arbeloa swapping Madrid for London, has their new head coach been underestimated?

Nathan Joyes takes a closer look as to what is going on at Craven Cottage and provides his best betting angle heading into the new campaign.

We will have the best football betting offers throughout the Premier League season. Make sure to take a look.

Team analysis

Fulham, similar to Chelsea, have appointed an ex-Real Madrid manager to lead the charge this season.

Alvaro Arbeloa moves into his second job managing a senior side after his short stint in La Liga, yet there are high hopes for the 43-year-old who represented Real Madrid, Liverpool and West Ham as a player.

However, while Arbeloa has strong credentials on the pitch, he has big shoes to fill after Marco Silva has consistently performed incredibly well with this team in recent years - all on a small budget.

The bookmakers believe Fulham will struggle after his exit - and while certain fans are trying to be optimistic, others are concerned about what direction the club heads in an era post Silva.

Arbeloa’s tactics have previously favoured a 4-3-3 formation, demanding a high press when out of possession and fast, direct passing when winning the ball back on the transition. This, in theory, sounds appealing on paper but whether Fulham have the players within the squad to achieve this against the very best is a question yet to be fully answered.

It’s not all doom and gloom. Fulham finished 11th last season and had the 6th best record at home - better than Newcastle and Chelsea - but their away form must improve (17th) if they are to avoid dropping further down the table this time round.

Key players

Arbeloa has called upon his contacts at Real Madrid to make two bold signings from his previous club. Cesar Palacios and Gonzalo Garcia have joined, the former costing around £8m while the latter close to £35m.

Garcia scored six La Liga goals last term, including four in six during the Club World Cup last summer whilst Kylian Mbappe recovered from an injury. However, Garcia clearly wants to play a starting role and Fulham have presented him with that opportunity.

The Spaniard wasn’t the only forward signed this summer. Jonah Kusi Asare has been brought in from Bayern for £5m on a permanent deal after spending last season on loan at Craven Cottage.

There have, however, been several noticeable exits. Raul Jimenez has left to re-join Wolves, while Harry Wilson signed for Leeds on a free transfer. Having scored 10 goals and provided seven assists in the Premier League, the Welshman is going to be a huge miss this season - and they’ve yet to replace him.

Issa Diop is the other main player to leave. The Moroccan who made 13 league appearances last season has signed for recently promoted Ipswich Town with the promise of more game time. Holes are appearing within Fulham’s side - and they haven’t been filled as of yet.

Season prediction

Fulham are as short as 1/4 to finish in the bottom 10 this season, and are one of the favourites to be relegated. The market clearly believes without Wilson and an inexperienced head coach, the Cottagers are going to struggle to compete - and it’s hard to argue with that.

Jimenez and Wilson are both going to be huge losses for the club, and their success - or failures - will largely depend on how quickly Gonzalo Garcia adjusts to the Premier League.

If he can’t find the back of the net as often as Arbeloa would like, the Spaniard could be in real trouble. Fulham’s squad looks thin on paper, and if a newly promoted side flourishes - as Sunderland did last campaign - Fulham could well be looking at dropping into the Championship come May next year.
