Nottingham Forest will look to continue their incredible form when they welcome Newcastle to the City Ground on Sunday. Three points will keep Nuno Santo's side in the Champions League places.
Let's be honest, no one had Nottingham Forest down to be in third place after ten matches. In fact, many pundits had Santo's side as firm relegation candidates. Those closer to the scene would have recognised their recruitment has been rather strong of late, and with just one defeat from their opening ten matches, Forest could be this year's surprise package.
Two back-to-back wins at the City Ground against Crystal Palace and West Ham - without conceding - has disrupted the usual top six pattern but no one can argue they don't deserve to be there. With the second best defence in the league, and with Chris Wood in the form of his life, the Reds are going to take some stopping at present.
Newcastle head to Nottingham in better spirits than if they had two weeks ago, having recorded two wins on the bounce since September. A 1-0 win over Arsenal at St James' Park may have lifted Eddie Howe's side into 11th place, but that's miles off where they will want to be.
Winless in their last three away matches, losing to both Fulham and Chelsea, Howe will have to return to the drawing board ahead of their trip to the City Ground - a stadium that can certainly bring the noise.
An advantage Newcastle may have over the hosts is their recent record over the Midlands club. Newcastle have beaten Forest in three of their last five matches, including knocking them out of the EFL Cup on penalties back in August. However, that result can be taken with a pinch of salt considering Forest had rotated their XI heavily.
What Forest will be looking at is their 3-1 win at St James' Park last season when Santo had just taken over. A hattrick from their man of the hour, Chris Wood, the main takeaway from that match - and the Kiwi forward has already scored eight Premier League goals this season.
Newcastle have only won once on the road in the Premier League season, coming from behind to beat Wolves 2-1. However, with Gary O'Neil's side bottom and winless after ten matches, that result isn't anything for the Magpies to shout about.
They may be unbeaten in their last three trips to the City Ground, but this is a Forest side that are capable of beating anyone at present.
With Newcastle showing little on their travels, and with Forest showing no signs of slowing down - especially at home - there's a standout price we just must be siding with this Sunday.
Forest tore West Ham apart last weekend, and although the visitors had a man sent off towards the end of the first half, Santo's team didn't relax or take their foot off the gas. Instead, they looked to play their usual game and at the moment, they have the quality in the final third to trouble most Premier League teams.
Chris Wood may be flying, but the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Morgan Gibbs-White carry such a threat that Newcastle will have to monitor if they are to get anything from the match.
As mentioned, Forest have only conceded seven Premier League goals, and head into this fixture on the back of two consecutive home clean sheets. The partnership of Murillo and Nikola Milenkovic is proving to be one of the best in the league. They will be tested with Alexsander Isak in good form, but there's no need for Forest to be nervous.
With Newcastle having only won once on the road this season, and with Forest only losing one match, (due to a controversial penalty vs Fulham), we are siding with the hosts to continue their phenomenal form in front of their own fans.
