Uwe Rosler’s Fortuna side have been fighting hard to hang onto their Bundesliga status since the league resumed action in May. Out of the five games that they have played since then, the Rhinelanders have lost just once – 5-0 away at Bayern Munich. They have won once too, beating Schalke 2-1 at home. Their other games have all ended in draws, though, something that suggests that they are becoming a very difficult team to beat. Rouwen Hennings is a key player for Fortuna. He scored twice last week as his team came from behind to draw 2-2 with Hoffenheim.

Lucien Favre’s Dortmund will go into this match feeling confident that they can hang onto second place in the table, even though their faint hopes of winning the title have now evaporated. BVB have won seven out of their last eight matches, with their only defeat in that run coming at the hands of champions-elect Bayern Munich. Last weekend, Emre Can;s second-half goal was sufficient for Dortmund to overcome Hertha Berlin at the Westfalenstadion. They are now seven points above fifth-placed Borussia Monchengladbach, and look almost certain to finish in the top four. They will want to erase an lingering anxiety with a win this weekend, however.

Dortmund are favourites with the bookies to win this game, and that is not surprising given the relative positions of the two teams in the league table. Recent history also suggests that BVB will emerge from Saturday’s match as winners. In the last five meetings between the sides, Dortmund have won. Earlier this season, when the two sides clashed in the reverse of this fixture in December, the Black and Yellows hammered Fortuna 5-0.
