Poland have already faced elimination whilst France have yet to score a goal of their own.
France’s Euro 2024 campaign hasn’t been hugely convincing. Didier Deschamps’ men have yet to concede a goal, which, of course, is brilliant. However, they’ve scored just once. Max Wober of Austria is their top scorer. He diverted a cross into his own net. They take on Poland on Tuesday, who have already faced elimination.
Few nations can match the quality of the French. It’s a side full of exceptional talent. Offensively, they’re dangerous on their day, with Mbappe and Griezmann the standout stars. N’Golo Kante has been excellent in Germany. The back five have also looked strong.
Only Germany has defeated France since the World Cup in Qatar. France has conceded 14 shots so far against Austria and the Netherlands. Chances will be few and far between for Poland as they look to go out on a high.
Poland has been up against it from the start. They were placed in a tricky group and have struggled for large parts. They’ve given the Netherlands and Austria a good run for their money but have fallen short on both occasions. France will provide the biggest test so far.
Michal Probierz’s men finished third in their qualifying group. Albania and the Czech Republic finished above them. Poland earned just a single point more than Moldova. Competing here was always going to be a big ask.
Robert Lewandowski has featured for just 31 minutes at Euro 2024. It's been a tournament that hasn't been kind. They'll look to put on a show for the travelling fans. The pressure is off. They can go all out in Leipzig.
These nations met in Qatar. France defeated Poland 3-1 in the last 16. Olivier Giroud opened the scoring, and Kylian Mbappe bagged a brace. Robert Lewandowski’s injury-time penalty was a consolation.
France will dominate proceedings. Deschamps’ side managed 63% possession against Koeman’s Netherlands in round two. With Michal Probierz’s men officially out of the tournament, they may play with the handbrake off. That could benefit France as spaces could open frequently.
There have been four meetings since 2000. France has won three of those encounters. The other ended 0-0 back in 2004. I expect Les Bleus to continue their emphatic winning record on Tuesday evening.
With international encounters played far less than club football, statistics and form are rarely consistent. France has won three of the four meetings since 2000, that’ll provide confidence. Kylian Mbappe may not feature here. Marcus Thuram is expected to lead the line.
Here are three interesting stats ahead of this Euro 2024 match between France vs Poland.
After analysing this encounter, there are two angles I’ve decided to consider. Antoine Griezmann has been excellent in Germany. I expect the Atletico Madrid man to be busy once again. France has enough to claim a victory. They’re also part of my selection.
Antoine Griezmann is a man that you can’t hate. The Frenchman is a silky footballer and has a wand of a left foot. In France’s 1-0 win over Austria, Griezmann had two shots. One arrived early on whilst the other came just after the hour mark.
With Kylian Mbappe a doubt again, Antoine could see more of the ball. Against Holland, our man racked up five shots. He should’ve scored that night. I expect the 33-year-old to manage at least two shots in an encounter his side is likely to dominate.
The price on France to win isn’t exactly brilliant. There’s no way that you could back it as a single. However, it’s a perfect way to get Deschamps’ men onside in a bet builder. Combining a France victory with Griezmann to have Over 1.5 Shots is priced at 1.91 (10/11).
Poland have lost both of their matches in Euro 2024 so far. They’ve already faced elimination. Will they be up for playing a French side with something to prove?
France To Win & Antoine Griezmann Over 1.5 Shots is my selection. The price is 1.91 (10/11).
