There might not be any Premier League games this weekend, but the EFL Championship has more than enough action to keep us going. For today’s betting tip, we’ll be focusing on the important matchup between Fulham and Blackpool at Craven Cottage.
Fulham are running away with the Championship in 2022. After being relegated last season, the Cottagers hired Marco Silva, and they currently hold an eight point lead over chasers Bournemouth and Blackburn.
Silva only has two absentees confirmed for their fixture against Blackpool on Saturday. Jean Michael Seri was selected for the Ivory Coast, therefore he is away at the AFCON for Saturday. In addition, Ivan Cavaleiro is out with a groin injury.
Blackpool have been inconsistent since they ascended from League One, but they have been the most successful of the newly promoted sides. They are sat 12th in the Championship - eight points away from the playoffs - enjoying a two game win streak.
The Tangerines are dealing with an injury crisis. Both James Husband and Keshi Anderson, who have both featured over 20 times this season, will both be missing until the middle of February. Additionally, defender Reece James may miss the fixture due to COVID.
Blackpool will have to be at their best to beat the in-form Fulham. Marco Silva’s side are averaging almost three goals a fixture, and they have scored 22 goals in their past four fixtures.
However, Blackpool did get the better of Fulham when the two sides met at Bloomfield Road. A Josh Bowler goal was the difference between the two sides, but we don’t think they’ll have enough to pick up the victory in the reverse fixture.
We can’t bet against Fulham. They’re blowing teams away with their goal scoring ability, and we don’t think that stops against Blackpool. Therefore, we are suggesting that you back Fulham to win and the game to have over 3.5 goals with Novibet at 9/4.
