It’s Saturday, and it’s time for another Lucky 15! We have enjoyed great success with these bets in recent weeks, and once again I’ve found four horses with tasty odds, which range from 10/1 to 33/1.

Four selections at fantastic prices!

All four of today’s Lucky 15 selections are currently available at double-figure prices ranging from 10/1 to 33/1. In the rest of this article, I’ll break down the reasoning behind each of the horses I’ve selected.

Oneforthegutter @ 25/1 - 8lb below his last win and he wears a first time visor!

Oneforthegutter’s last three wins were off handicap marks of 85, 87 and 92. He has finished second three times off marks of 88, 89 and 92, plus he has recorded four third places off 88, 90, 90 and 91. His handicap mark has now dropped to just 84, so he is certainly handicapped to strike if he puts his best foot forward.

His latest win, and his two most recent seconds, were all over distances of 1m 5f or 1m 6f. That means today’s 1m 5.5f race should be right up his street. It’s notable that Oneforthegutter will wear a visor for the first time today, which could be the key to see him bounce back to form. I also believe he’s at his best on fast ground, and the official going at Newbury today is Good to Firm, so that fits in neatly too.

Commanche Falls @ 33/1 - He can strike on this drop down into the Ayr Silver Cup

The Michael Dods-trained Commanche Falls has run in the last four renewals of the Ayr Gold Cup. He has form figures of 7260, and handicap marks of 105, 109, 107 and 98. He was drawn on the wrong side of the track for the last two renewals, so he had excuses. He returns to Ayr for this big festival once again, but this time, he will run in the Ayr Silver Cup.

Commanche Falls is nine years old now, but he was a seriously talented horse in his day. At his peak, he won back to back renewals of the Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood, before landing two Listed races and a Group 3 at the Curragh, Newbury and York. He hasn’t been in the same form for a good 12 months, and his handicap mark has dropped to 91. However, Paul Mulrennan is booked to ride today, and as he brought Commanche Falls home in second place in Bahrain in January, I’m hoping Paul can help him bounce back.

Mr Swivell @ 10/1 - His form has worked out exceptionally well!

Mr Swivell is also my main betting tip for today, and the article where I discuss him in depth is already live. Three runs back, Mr Swivell bumped into The Lost King, who turned out to be a Group horse in a Handicap. The Lost King was rated 96 that day, but after winning another valuable Handicap on his next start, then finishing a nose second in Group 3 company, he is now rated almost a stone higher.

Based on that, Mr Swivell had no chance against him, and did the best he realistically could by chasing him home. Mr Swivell finished seventh last time out, where there was a very similar scenario, and this time it was Rammeee. The horses who placed second, third and fourth all went on to win on their next starts too, franking the form.

Candy @ 20/1 - He won the Ayr Silver Cup last year and now goes for the big one!

Last year, Candy won the Ayr Silver Cup for connections who scooped the Ayr Gold Cup too. This year, Candy takes his chance in the big one, and I think he can win it. He won the Silver Cup off a handicap mark of 92, producing a RPR of 104. He has been in poor form since then and races off 97 today.

However, the Ayr Gold Cup has likely been his target since last year’s Silver Cup win, so I’d take his recent form with a pinch of salt. He has a record of 2/2 at Ayr and loves Soft going. He has had excuses too, the ground was unsuitable on one occasion, and on a different day he banged his head when he was being tacked up.

Can these four horses hit the frame?

At huge odds of 25/1, 33/1, 10/1 and 20/1, just four places would bring us a nice return for our Lucky 15. Of course, if any of these horses manages to win for us, even better, and the more the merrier!

Some of these selections do require a leap of faith, but that’s offset by their huge prices, so I’m happy to take the risk. I could certainly see all four outrunning their odds if they perform at their best, and could easily cause some shocks today.
