As we reach another Saturday, it means I have another Lucky 15 for you! Once again, the four selections come from the ITV Racing action which takes place at Newmarket and Haydock this week.

For those viewing my content for the first time today, I’m RacingGav and I’m the resident horse racing expert here at Betting.co.uk. I produce a wide range of content but my core focus is to provide you with free betting tips, several times each week.

Four selections at each way prices!

As is often the case, I have tried to pick out value selections for you at each way prices. This week, all four selections are currently available at odds varying from 6/1 to 18/1, which is perfect for this Lucky 15 bet. In the remainder of the article, I’ll break down my reasons for including each horse.

Polyxena @ 6/1 - She looks to have plenty more progression to come!

We kick this bet off in the “Jersey Lily” Fillies’ Nursery Handicap at Newmarket, which is the opening race of the day at 13:22. Sierra Belle will be all the rage with the punters. She's a Frankel filly bred and owned by Juddmonte and carrying their famous silks. She could have plenty of improvement to come, but at 3/1 or shorter, I’m taking her on.

I’m siding with the less sexy connections of Stuart Williams and TJE Racing who run Polyxena here. She is 2/2 in her career to date, with both wins coming over 6f at Windsor. In both runs, she has shown signs of inexperience, and also shaped like she’ll thrive for the step up to 7f, which she gets today. As well as the visuals, her stride data points towards longer trips too, and I think it’s just her class that's seen her through so far. With two runs under her belt and the step up in trip here, I think she’ll continue to progress and will outrun her 6/1 odds.

Checkandchallenge @ 18/1 - He gets his ground and he’s very well handicapped now!

Checkandchallenge is testing my patience but I’m not giving up on him yet. Long term followers of my content will know that I backed Checkandchallenge at the Ebor Festival last month. He was gambled in from 20/1 to 10/1 that day, but there was a mishap with his blindfold as the gates opened, which ruined his chance as he lost many lengths at the start. As a result, I’d draw a line straight through that run.

Last time out, he went to Doncaster but the ground dried to Good but by the time of the race, it might well have been faster. That wouldn’t have done him any favours, but he also blew the start. However, given he was sent off 28/1, I don’t think they had high expectations that day anyway.

Returning to softer conditions and the galloping track that is Haydock, I think he can bounce back here. Especially as his handicap mark has fallen to just 96 now. On his first four starts this campaign, he produced RPRs in the mid 100’s and a repeat of that form would see him with every chance and he could even surpass that form now he’s back on softer ground.

Hucklesbrook @ 7/1 - He’s very dangerous if he handles the softer conditions!

I thought Hucklesbrook was incredibly unlucky last time out at Newbury. He was coming there with every chance before being the meat in a sandwich between Rhythm N Hooves and Hypnotised who went on to finish 1-2 ahead of him in third. Without being hampered, he certainly would have gone closer and he was only beaten a length at the line.

Roger Teal was rightfully fuming but Hucklesbrook may well put a smile back on his face here. Given his keenness to get on with the job, the drop back to 5f is the right call as it showed with his great run the last day. Therefore, I feel it’s the right call to stay on this trip. The bigger question is the ground as to date, he has only ran on Good to Firm or Good and it’s currently Soft at Haydock as I type this.

Judged on his action, I wouldn’t expect softer conditions to suit him. However, the pedigree does tell a different story. His sire - Aclaim, was a three time winner on Soft including the Qatar Price de la Foret (Group 1) over in Chantilly, France. His dam also won on Soft, so hopefully he takes after his parents and performs on this ground! If he does he could take some beating here off a 1lb higher mark of 86.

Erzindjan @ 9/1 - He can get redemption for last year’s race!

The big handicap of the day is the £200,000 Cambridgeshire at Newmarket and that is where the final leg of our Lucky 15 bet comes from. Long term followers of my content will be rubbing their hands together as they will be on Erzindjan at 33/1 in the antepost markets. If you missed that article last month, be sure to check it out as it gives my case for the horse in detail.

Further to the article, the positives have kept coming. Last year he was drawn high but it turned out that you wanted to be low. He’s drawn high again in 23 but this time, it looks like it could be the place to be. His trainer T J Kent has also booked top jockey Billy Loughnane for the ride today. Erzindjan is a C&D winner and arguably would have won this race last year with a kinder draw. I’m sure this has been a long term plan for his connections and hopefully he can put last year’s defeat right with a win this time around.

Will these four horses shine today?

Each one of these four runners have questions to answer:

Can Polyxena keep improving and will she stay the 7f trip?
Can Checkandchallenge bounce back on his preferred softer ground?
Will Hucklesbrook handle the softer conditions?
Can the Cambridgeshire fall more kindly for Erzindjan this year?

I think our four runners can answer these questions and outrun their fantastic each way odds. As always, I’d take a full house of places for a lovely return but I’m quietly confident that we can surpass that and fire in some winners. Given we’re on Erzindjan at 33/1 antepost, that one would be particularly sweet - Fingers crossed!
