With each new month, there are new trainers to follow! The trainers I recommended in my October article produced 54 winners. However, the standout performer was Alastair Ralph. I flagged his growing strike rate and profitability for October 2023 to 2025, and this year he backed that up with a 33% strike rate, and a profit to £1 level stakes of +£26.54.
As the resident horse racing expert here at Betting.co.uk, I publish all kinds of non-tipping articles, including monthly trainers and horses to follow, big race trends, and educational guides. However, most of my content is tipping related. There are free horse racing tips for the day’s racing, a weekly Lucky 15 for the ITV Racing action, and antepost picks.
My most recent antepost selection is for the Ryanair Chase at the 2027 Cheltenham Festival. He’s currently priced at 25/1 but if he performs well when he races later this month, that will shorten rapidly, so make sure you take a look sooner rather than later!
With no betting tip in today’s article, my bookmaker recommendation is not price driven, and we can put the best horse racing odds to one side. Instead I’ve looked at their welcome offers, and BetMGM is currently at the top of the pile. If you sign up and bet £10, you’ll get £40 in free bets. Definitely worth checking out.
When looking at the data for my trainers to follow articles, I look at two aspects. Firstly I use the Trainers Championship data for the previous season, then I consider the top 50 trainers based on prize money for that season and their historical data. This enables me to find statistics relevant to the month ahead.
We’ll kick this article off with the four trainers who consistently deliver strong results in the month of November:
#1 Joe Tizzard:
Joe Tizzard was far from disgraced in 2023, and he was strong in November 2024 and 2025. What I also find interesting is that he has hit the ground running this season. Last month he was 14/53 (26%) and +£0.32 to £1 level stakes. If he can continue that form into November, he’s a trainer to keep onside!
#2 Jamie Snowden:
Jamie Snowden was nicely profitable across the last three Novembers. He showed a small loss in 2024, but he still produced an awesome strike rate of 27%. Last year was the real eye-catcher though, with 20 winners from 47 runners, resulting in a strike rate of 43%. Like Joe Tizzard, he was strong last month, with 9/35 (26%) and he has hit the ground running this month with 4/5 (80%) already and a +£11.55 profit to £1 level stakes.
#3 Sam Thomas:
Sam Thomas is another trainer was profitable across the three year window. Whilst he is not producing the same volume of winners as Joe Tizzard and Jamie Snowden, he has produced phenomenal strike rates during the last three Novembers!
#4 Nicky Richards:
Nicky Richards is the opposite to Joe Tizzard, as he was strong in both 2023 and 2024, but then lacked profitability in November 2025. However, let’s not allow that to take away from the fact he still had a fantastic month with a 26% strike rate. He is another to come into November in good form. In October, he recorded 3/9 (33%) with a £1 level stakes profit of +£2.50.
Whilst the aforementioned trainers have been consistent, these three trainers had a fantastic November last year:
#1 Chris Gordon:
As you can see, Chris produced a 30% strike rate last year, and a sensational profit of +£24.38 to £1 level stakes. The other thing I like about his record over the past three years is that his strike rate and profit to £1 level stakes have increased year on year.
#2 Joel Parkinson & Sue Smith:
As you can see, the partnership of Joel and Sue was poor in both 2023 and 2024. However, they had a fantastic 2025 and it’s just a question of whether that was a one off, or if they can back it up?
#3 Kim Bailey & Mat Nicholls:
Kim and Mat arguably deserve to be in the consistent category, but with a lesser year in between in terms of profit to £1 level stakes (still strong strike rate wise), I have dropped them into this section. The yard has been in fine form with 5/20 (25%) last month, and a profit to £1 level stakes of +£7.50. It looks like November could be more of the same, with 1/3 (33%) so far.
These trainers don’t fit either of the other two categories, but I still feel they are worth keeping on your radar:
#1 Ben Pauling:
If you had backed Ben's horses to £1 level stakes for the past three Novembers, you would be operating at a loss. He also had a very poor October this year, with just 2/39 (5%) albeit with 11 seconds and four thirds. However, I believe a lot of his horses have looked in need of the run. With race fitness now on their side, I think Ben could start firing during November. To date, he has recorded one win and two places from four runs, with a record of +£9.00 to £1 level stakes.
#2 Venetia Williams:
Historically, the Venetia Williams yard has come alive in November, as you can see from the 2023 and 2024 data. This usually coincides with significant rainfall and softer ground conditions. However, the yard failed to fire in November 2025, which was in line with their season as a whole. When trainers have a poor year, but then rediscover their form, they can end up with plenty of well handicapped horses in the stable, so keep an eye out for that!
#3 Gordon Elliott:
Rather than quoting his data from the last three years, I just wanted to give Gordon Elliott’s data from the past two months a mention. As you can see, he has only sent a few horses over to the UK so far, but he already has a very strong strike rate. Gordon Elliott doesn't send horses across the Irish Sea for a day out, so keep your eyes peeled.
The obvious trainers to start with are the ones that are consistent when it comes to delivering in November each year. Those are Joe Tizzard, Jamie Snowden, Sam Thomas and Nicky Richards. If you had backed all of their runners in November 2023, 2024, and 2025, you would have seen a profit of +£94.22 to £1 level stakes. While nothing is guaranteed, these are the four trainers who are the most likely to deliver again.
Chris Gordon, Joel Parkinson & Sue Smith, and Kim Bailey & Mat Nicholls were all fantastic in November 2025, but weren’t consistently good over the three year period. However, if they can back up what they did last year, they’re worth having on your side. Kim Bailey & Mat Nicholls have already fired in a winner for November, hopefully the first of many.
We then have Ben Pauling, Venetia Williams, and Gordon Elliott. Ben’s horses have looked in need of the run, Venetia’s need to bounce back from her “toughest and lowest scoring campaign” but her horses could be well handicapped as a result, and Gordon operates at a fantastic strike rate on this side of the Irish Sea.
