The Premier League continues this weekend with a fixture between two of England’s most historic clubs. For today’s betting tip, we are focusing on another instalment in the fierce rivalry between Leeds United and Manchester United at Elland Road.

Leeds United are slowly being dragged back into a relegation scrap in the Premier League. Marcelo Bielsa’s side are still six-points clear, but they lost a true six-pointer against Everton last weekend. That result leaves the Yorkshire outfit winless in three in the Premier League.

As seems to be the case with Leeds United in 2021/22, they still have a lengthy injury list. Liam Cooper, Patrick Bamford, and Kalvin Phillips will all remain out for the upcoming showdown with Manchester United. The likes of Stuart Dallas and Junior Firpo seem to be gametime decisions for Bielsa.

Manchester United picked up a much-needed victory in midweek. The victory over Brighton has given United some breathing room ahead of West Ham United in the top four. Despite the good result, United fans were probably more pleased to see Cristiano Ronaldo return to scoring form for the first time in 2022.

One dampener from midweek was Raphael Varane. The Frenchmen had to pull out of the squad due to illness and it remains to be seen whether he’ll be absent for Sunday’s encounter.

Since Leeds’s return to the Premier League, they haven’t fared well against Manchester United to say the least. In the two times they have travelled to Old Trafford, including the reverse fixture this season, Bielsa’s team have been beaten by an aggregate of 11-3 over the two fixtures.

However, Leeds can take confidence from their fixture at Elland Road last season. Leeds held United to a 0-0 draw, so they’ll hope to recreate that defensive solidity this weekend in their 2nd encounter at home since promotion.
