The Premier League returns this weekend, with plenty of fixtures to excite fans as the international break concludes. For today’s betting tip, we’ll be focusing on the important fixture in the Premier League this weekend between Liverpool and Arsenal at Anfield.

Liverpool finally lost their undefeated streak in the Premier League before the international break. The Reds fell to West Ham United at the London Stadium before the internationals and dropped to fourth after eleven games. However, they could finish this weekend top of the league (if results go their way).

They lost their unbeaten streak and they have lost some key talent as well. Roberto Firmino is out with a hamstring injury and numerous players aren’t at full fitness. Andrew Robertson, Jordan Henderson, Sadio Mane, and Joe Gomez aren’t 100% certainties for the weekend.

Liverpool’s opponents are arguably the most in-form team in the league - Arsenal. The Gunners haven’t tasted defeat since August and they have climbed into the European places ahead of this weekend's fixtures.

Their good form could be attributed to their limited injuries. Arsenal are still without Granit Xhaka after his knee injury, Kolasinac will miss the fixture due to a foot issue, whilst Thomas Partey is a day-to-day decision with a muscle problem.

These two teams have had contrasting trajectories in recent years. Arsenal have struggled, however, this season has been very different. They are one spot below the Merseyside club and they will take confidence from their two recent draws in cup competitions - Arsenal made it through via penalties on both occasions.

Although, Liverpool have had the better of Arsenal in the league. They have lost once to Arsenal in the Premier League since 2015 (the loss in 2020 when they had already secured the league title.) IIn addition, Liverpool will be looking to rectify their defeat at West Ham in front of their home faithful and attempt to reclaim top spot.

Despite Arsenal’s amazing turn of form, Liverpool should have enough to get the victory. Anfield is regarded as a fortress and we think that will play a part when the two teams meet on Saturday afternoon. So, we’re predicting Liverpool to win with a -1 handicap (win by two) with Betfred at 23/20
