There have been some strong away performances since, and the 2-0 away win over Leipzig in the Champions League midweek inspired confidence. Everton have suffered back to back Premier League defeats since putting five past Tottenham in the FA Cup. Everton famously haven’t beaten Liverpool since their 2010 win at Goodison. Of the current crop from either squad, only Toffees captain Seamus Coleman was on the field that day. Everton’s last win at Anfield was even further back, in 1999. Everton don’t mind a draw against their local rivals, though as they’ve managed four in the last seven. They were lucky to get a point at Goodison earlier in the season though as VAR had a lot to answer for.
