Merseyside Derby for you this week, as we give you our top tips for Liverpool vs Everton at Anfield on Saturday evening!
The Anfield fortress has turned into the Anfield, as the Reds have lost all three of their home games since Burnley broke the record on January 21. There have been some strong away performances since, and the 2-0 away win over Leipzig in the Champions League midweek inspired confidence. Kabak and Alisson were Blunder free while Mane rediscovered his goalscoring touch.
Everton have suffered back to back Premier League defeats since putting five past Tottenham in the FA Cup. The Loss to Fulham was a shocker, however they didn’t place too badly against a Man City side who were just superior on the day. If Sigurdsson can play like he did against Spurs last week, Ancelotti will be laughing on his way out of Anfield on Saturday - but they haven’t won there since 1999
Everton famously haven’t beaten Liverpool since their 2010 win at Goodison. Of the current crop from either squad, only Toffees captain Seamus Coleman was on the field that day. Everton’s last win at Anfield was even further back, in 1999. Everton don’t mind a draw against their local rivals, though as they’ve managed four in the last seven. They were lucky to get a point at Goodison earlier in the season though as VAR had a lot to answer for.
Given the recent history of games between these sides, and given Liverpool’s recent home form and Everton’s dip, we’re predicting another sharing of the spoils. Our official betting tip for this game in the straightforward draw at odds of 7/2 with Bet365
