Liverpool host Manchester United this Sunday afternoon in the Premier League, who will be hoping to extend their lead at the top of table as their arch-rivals continue to crumble under their new head coach.
Slot going from strength to strength
No Jurgen Klopp, no problem for Liverpool this season. Many fans were apprehensive of their new era under Arne Slot, not because of who was appointed but more about how they would cope without their beloved German. But Slot has continued Klopp's incredible work - and perhaps even better than his predecessor.
Liverpool head into this fixture looking to extend their 23-match unbeaten run, having won their last four Premier League matches on the bounce. They are scoring for fun as well, firing six past Spurs, three against Leicester and five vs West Ham. Can anyone actually stop them? It looks unlikely...
Has Amorim bitten off more than he can chew?
It's not been the ideal start to life at Man United for Ruben Amorim, has it? That's me being generous, too. His side head into one of their biggest games of the season on the back of four consecutive defeats, conceding 11 goals in the process. Sitting in 14th place, the new boss even admitted his team are involved in the relegation scrap. Quite incredible to even contemplate.
But he's not wrong based on what we're seeing on the pitch at present. No fight, no defensive organisation and a real lack of cutting edge in front of goal. There's so much that needs to change, and a trip to Anfield is far from ideal at this moment for the club.
Liverpool have only lost one home match this season, which came against Nottingham Forest, but since then they haven't looked back. Slot's team are comfortably pulling away at the top of the tree, and it's going to take a mighty drop off for them to throw away the title.
The form of Mo Salah has been a huge reason for their success. The Egyptian's future may be in doubt, but he's scored 17 goals and provided 13 assists in what has quite frankly been an insane season for the 32-year-old.
Although Man United won against Man City at the Etihad mid-December, they've followed it up with two consecutive defeats on the road, conceding six goals. They haven't won at Anfield since 2016, where a Wayne Rooney strike proved to be the difference. How they'd love a striker like him to be available for them.
Earlier in the season, Liverpool won 3-0 at Old Trafford. A repeat result on the cards?
Liverpool are firmly on course to pick up their second Premier League title and Slot's side will be in the mood to add to Man United's on-going misery this weekend.
Salah to sink arch-rivals
Liverpool are 2/7 to win the match, and although that is incredibly short, it's difficult to argue that the bookmakers have got it wrong.
Slot's team have gone from strength to strength during the festive period, coming out with maximum points from the last three matches, as well as scoring plenty of goals in the process.
With just three points from their last 15, Man United are in big trouble. They might not be in a relegation scrap (yet), but it's hard to find any positives to say about them at the moment. One of the biggest derbies in England looks like it could easily be a procession for the hosts - and that's exactly what I'm going to be backing.
Liverpool to win the match and Mo Salah to score anytime is priced at evens with bet365. Salah has scored five goals in his last three matches, as well as against Man United at Old Trafford earlier in the season.
There is no need to overcomplicate this bet, and although Liverpool are likely to run riot, you can almost guarantee their Egyptian King will be running the show once more. Good luck to those following.
