Fresh off a shock 0-3 loss to Atalanta, Liverpool head into this encounter desperate to salvage a dwindling season. They host a Crystal Palace side who, as ever, are settling for bottom-half mediocrity.
Liverpool coming into this game are the monumental favourites and will be looking to bounce back after a disheartening derby day against Manchester United, picking up only a point at Old Trafford despite sheer dominance by Jurgen Klopp’s Redmen.
It is going to be a mouth-watering end to the season with three main competitors gunning for the league title and Liverpool’s German excellency will want to close the curtains on his time managing the English and European giants with a league title and with the potential returns of trusted players could provide a massive boost in getting across the line come the final day.
This Sunday, with the backing of Liverpool’s home support, it is expected to be a resounding win. Aside from their resounding success towards the back end of the season, including a Carabao cup win, the Reds have only one clean sheet in their past ten Premier League games, making them ultra-alert to Palace’s fast starts.
Despite exploring new possibilities by appointing Austrian manager Oliver Glasner, South London outfit Crystal Palace are winless in their previous five Premier League games and are slowly but surely slipping down the table.
Their situation was not helped by a second half demolition job by Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at Selhurst Park in their previous fixture, cancelling out an early goal by the in-form Jean-Philippe Mateta. The Eagles travel to the Northwest this Sunday to face a formidable Liverpool side and will be desperate to carry on their early scoring routine of late if they want to have their say in Merseyside.
Although relegation is extremely unlikely, Glasner would like to see a marked improvement from his side going into the final games of the Premier League campaign, allowing him and his staff to shape a team to challenge next season
Having a look at Liverpool and Crystal palace’s previous encounters, it’s no surprise that Liverpool are dominant, not losing to the Eagles since April 2017. Their last meeting before Christmas saw plenty of drama with a second-half red card and a last-gasp winner from Harvey Elliott securing all three points for Liverpool at Selhurst Park.

Seemingly the attacking prowess of Liverpool will be way too much for the leaky Palace defence to handle and a win for the home side seems almost inevitable.
With Liverpool all but out of the Champions League, there are not too many excuses for Klopp not to go full-strength against Glasner’s men in a game destined for dominance.
Although it is likely the Reds will take control of the game, Liverpool’s slight absence of clean sheets recently, mixed with the Mateta-led “straight out of the blocks” starts from Palace could catch the league title hopefuls off guard, along with potential lethargy and discompose from the Scousers’ most recent European venture which produced an embarrassing loss to Italian side Atalanta
