Manchester play hosts to Crystal Palace on Saturday and the Champions could really do with the 3 points from this weekend’s fixture as they currently sit 4 points off top spot. They may be fortunate that Crystal Palace are a little bit out of form because they can be a very tough team to break down.
Manchester City have opened up as your 1/5 favourites whilst Crystal Palace are 14/1 to take 3 points away from the Etihad. It is going to be a big ask for the away team and I have some betting predictions for this fixture, but let’s take a look at the two teams credentials first.
Manchester City may not be in tip top form at the minute but they are still far superior to Crystal Palace and should be able to get the job done at home. The champions are struggling with consistency at the minute and aren’t as reliable at the back as they have been previously which does slightly open the door for Palace but ultimately, Manchester City should have too much fire power and will be very tough to beat at home.
Crystal Palace have been a team quite hard to break down in recent seasons but they seem to be having a few issues in defence recently. To counter this they have changed formation and are playing much more defensive football however this will make this fixture even more difficult for them to get a result out of with the squad that Manchester City have. Crystal Palace are going to have to try and play on the counter attack, but against the current champions this is likely to prove difficult.
Manchester City dominate the head to heads between themselves and Crystal Palace with six wins, two draws and two losses and I think this fixture is likely to go to Manchester City again in their current form. I find it hard to see this fixture going to the away side and the head to heads give a fair reflection of that too.
Manchester City have opened up at long odds on to beat Crystal Palace at home this week and the away side are really going to need to find some form if they are to get anything out of this fixture. I am going to use the correct score market for
this weeks betting tip.
I think this fixture, although potentially one sided, could still be an interesting watch because Crystal Palace are going to be forced to take some chances throughout this game if they want to get anything out of it. Manchester City however are going to be hard to keep out and it could just be a case of how many they will score.
Manchester City are going to prove really hard to beat this week, but the 1/5 is too short to back as a single so I’m going to go for a correct score verdict this week. I think the fact that Crystal Palace are going to have to play on the counter attack will just leave them vulnerable at the back and I expect Manchester City to capitalise. I think Manchester City 4-0 is the way to go here.
