The Premier League returns this weekend, with plenty of fixtures to excite fans as the international break concludes. For today’s betting tip, we’ll be focusing on the important fixture in the Premier League this weekend between Manchester City and Everton at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City entered the international break after a perfect result for themselves. The blue side of Manchester picked up a comfortable victory at Old Trafford over the arch rivals - rising to second in the Premier League. They never felt like they got out of first-gear when they played the Red Devils and another win could be on the cards against Everton.
For this fixture, City will continue to be without both Ferran Torres and Aymeric Laporte. The Spanish central defender is serving another game of his suspension for a straight red whilst Torres nurses a foot injury.
The international break came at the perfect time for Rafa Benitez’s Everton. They are five games without a victory, with one victory in seven games - a 2-0 triumph over bottom of the league Norwich. A loss would see them slump further down the Premier League and possibly call curtains on Benitez’s reign.
Everton’s form hasn’t been helped by injuries. Star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been ruled out till late November/ early December, whilst Abdoulaye Doucoure and Tom Davies will be absent from the midfield with injury.
This fixture has a very one-sided history as of late. Manchester City haven’t even dropped a point to Everton since 2017. A run of eight-straight victories for Pep Guardiola’s side, including a 5-0 in last season's final fixture between the pair.
Everton’s chances aren’t helped by their terrible record at the Etihad. The Toffees haven’t managed to muster any victories at City’s home in a decade, so a victory on Saturday would be an extreme upset. Everton would need to draw on their last victory over a City side - a 4-0 victory at Goodison Park in 2017.
Everything points to a Manchester City win. The question remains of by how much? We think, looking at previous fixtures, the chances of over 2.5 goals is likely in the game. And City have scored over 2.5 in three of the last five against Everton. Therefore, we are predicting that Manchester City will win, Over 2.5 goals in the game, and over 2.5 goals by Manchester City with Bet365 at 91/50.
