Manchester City welcome Everton to the Etihad on Saturday for the early kick off and they will be looking to take all three points here too. Manchester City have opened up as your 1/5 favourites to take the three points at home whilst Everton are 14/1 to cause an upset.
You can get 7/1 for the draw if that’s your fancy too but it is going to be a big ask for Everton to get anything out of this game. I have some betting suggestions but let’s take a look at the two teams first.
Manchester City have closed the gap on the league leaders Liverpool and are now just two points behind and with a game in hand so a win here against Everton could see them go top of the table. They have really found their form since Kevin De Bruyne has been back in the squad and I think they are going to be hard to play again this week especially at home.
Everton had started this season playing some really good football, but in recent times their form has taken a significant turn for the worse. They had a handful of losses and have since drawn their last three fixtures and will need to find some form out of nowhere if they are to win here.
Manchester City dominate the head to heads between these two sides and have won 9 of the last 10 meetings between the two sides. They generally seem to have too many attacking options for Everton who have a lack of durability in defense. I find it hard to see the result any different this week.
With the form of Manchester City at the moment, Everton are going to find it very hard to create goal scoring opportunities and that may be a big problem this week. The issue is that if Everton do try and attack they then become very vulnerable to the Manchester City counter attack. I’d like to see Everton give this a good go, but ultimately, Manchester City will be very tough to beat.
For this fixture in particular I can’t see anything but a Manchester City win but there is no value in their 1/5 price tag. For this reason I will take a chance using the correct score market this week in search of some better value.
This will be a good game to watch despite Manchester City being 1/5 to take the result and they really do seem to be finding top gear again which would be a big worry for Everton. I think Everton are likely to give this a good go but ultimately don't have the firepower to contend with the current champions.
I think if Everton score first, this will just open the game up for Manchester City and then it is just a case of how many goals. I think to find some value in this game it’s best to take a look at the correct score market and I think 4-0 is good value for Manchester City.
