The Premier League continues this weekend with a fixture between two of English football’s heavyweights. For today’s betting tip, we are focusing on the match between runaway league leaders Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City are already the consensus Premier League champions. Pep Guardiola’s side are steamrolling through whichever opposition has been in front of them and they haven’t been beaten in the league since October 30th, 2021. To add to their league form, they enter this fixture after a dominant 5-0 victory in the Champions League.

On the injury front, three players currently have a 25% chance to play. Possible starters Jack Grealish and Gabriel Jesus are both handling injuries and are unlikely to start, whilst Zack Steffen status is undisclosed heading into the weekend’s fixtures.

Tottenham made an unbelievably impressive start under Antonio Conte. The Lilywhites went from midtable to within touching distance of Europe (with games in hand), but the wheels seem to have fell off for Spurs. Conte’s side are amid three-straight league defeats, leaving them eighth ahead of Saturday’s fixture with the champions.

Antonio Conte has said that he is “hopeful” to see the return of Eric Dier for Saturday’s game after the defender has been suffering from a thigh injury. Fellow defender Japhet Tanganga is also nursing an injury and he is doubtful ahead of Saturday.

Not many teams have fared well when they play Manchester City. However, Tottenham Hotspur seem an outlier to the norm. Spurs have three victories over Manchester City in the past five games between the two, that ranks substantially better than the rest of the Premier League.

However, when it comes to playing at the Etihad, Manchester City tend to get the better of Tottenham. The London side haven’t come to Manchester and won since 2016, so it seems a longshot that they could recreate that this weekend.
