Manchester United are a mixed bag under Erik Ten Hag. One week they are completely outplayed and the next they look like a solid unit capable of beating anyone. It must be frustrating for the supporters.

After beating Chelsea at Old Trafford on Wednesday, United will be keen to make it consecutive Premier League wins and boost their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League again.

Bournemouth need the points for different reasons. their recent form has been quite good but they are still in the bottom half of the table. Victory over Manchester United would give them a bit of breathing space from the teams below them.

Manchester United have tasted just one defeat in their last five Premier League outings, but Ten Hag continues to be under pressure. That defeat against Newcastle was a poor performance from United, but they are capable of going on another run of form and creep back into the top four.

The Red Devils have lost three of their last six league games at Old Trafford. For a stadium that used to be a fortress for United, that is not good enough and they need to get that form back in front of their own supporters to give them something to sing and cheer about.

Ten Hag is still without Christian Eriksen, Mason Mount and Casemiro through injury, while he has still not cleared the air with Jadon Sancho with the former Borussia Dortmund star still not being considered for selection.

The Cherries find themselves in 15th position with 16 points. They are not in any immediate danger, but a couple of poor results could see them dragged into a relegation battle.

They are showing plenty of grit and determination. Bournemouth are unbeaten in their last four league matches with three victories and one draw.

They will head to Old Trafford full of confidence that they can remain undefeated for a fifth successive game.

Manager Androni Iraola has four players missing due to injuries. Lloyd Kelly is still recovering from a hamstring problem he picked up in training. Max Aarons also has a hamstring injury and is expected to be out until January. Alex Scott and Tyler Adams will both be out of action until 2024 with knee and hamstring problems respectively.

The Cherries last defeated Manchester United in 2019 thanks to a 1-0 victory at Dean Court, while they have yet to pick up a single win at Old Trafford.
