The Premier League continues this weekend, with two teams level on points facing off Saturday at 12.30. For today’s betting tip, we’ll be focusing on the important clash between Manchester United against Everton at Old Trafford.
Manchester United’s unbeaten start to the Premier League season was brought to an end by Aston Villa last weekend. Bruno Fernandes’ failure to convert a 93rd minute penalty meant Manchester United slumped to fourth in the Premier League table - level on points with Everton.
Manchester United’s defeat was compounded by Luke Shaw hobbling off after 34 minutes. The English defender hasn’t been assessed yet however it is unlikely that the left back will be fit for the weekend. In addition, captain Harry Maguire could also miss Saturday’s fixture after being replaced in the 67th minute.
As for Everton, they have made an impressive start under Rafa Benitez. The Merseyside club has one loss in six Premier League games and are on the brink of breaking into the top four. A win on the weekend would mean back-to-back wins for Everton after losing to Aston Villa on matchday four.
Despite their impressive form, Everton currently have a lengthy injury list. Both Richarlison and Dominic Calvert Lewin are sidelined with knee and thigh injuries respectively. Whilst Jordan Pickford has a 50/50 chance of featuring with an injured shoulder. Gbamin, Delph, Andre Gomes, and Seamus Coleman continue to be ruled out.
The last five fixtures have alternated between Manchester United wins and draws between these two sides. Last season, this fixture served up a classic at Old Trafford. In February, Everton battled to a 3-3 draw through a last minute equaliser from Dominic Calvert Lewin after suffering defeat at Goodison Park in the reverse fixture.
Everton has a poor record when facing Manchester United at Old Trafford. They have drawn the last two when travelling to Manchester, but they haven’t won at Old Trafford since 2013. This is partnered by Old Trafford being a fortress so far in the 2021 season. Manchester United has won both home games this season and they will be hoping to refind their form on Saturday.
These two teams can’t be separated in the Premier League table. Manchester United and Everton are level on points but after recent results between the two - Manchester United are the favourites. They have a plethora of attacking injuries, but Everton has enough to trouble Manchester Unite defensively so both teams may score.
We’re predicting Both Teams to Score and Manchester United to Win with Bet365 at 12/5.
