Manchester United welcome old rivals Leeds United to Old Trafford this Sunday afternoon for what should be a passionate trans-Pennine Premier League clash.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Red Devils have not enjoyed good form at Old Trafford recently, having won just one of their last six home Premier League matches. In their last home game, they drew 0-0 with neighbours Manchester City. If you think that result will be repeated on Sunday, Unibet are offering odds of 16/1. United meet Sheffield United on Thursday, so may pick up some injuries on their trip to South Yorkshire.
Leeds head into this game on the back of two consecutive defeats against London teams, away at Chelsea and at home to West Ham United. They are set to face Newcastle United at Elland Road on Wednesday evening and will hope to have ended their losing run by the time they face the Red Devils. Troublingly, they have conceded an average of 1.83 goals per game at the time of writing, while only scoring an average of 1.42.
This will be the first time that these two teams have met in the Premier League since 2004, a sign of how long Leeds had been outside of the top flight of English football before this season. There have been 24 Premier League meetings in total between the teams, with Manchester United having won 13, with eight of those victories coming at Old Trafford. Leeds have never won in the Premier League at Old Trafford.
Our featured tip for this game comes from Unibet, who are offering odds of 2/1 on Manchester United to win and both teams to score. While United’s home form has not been that great this season, Leeds are struggling to win games at the moment. While we think they will manage to pierce the Red Devils’ defence at least once, we cannot see them winnig the game.
