The Premier League continues this weekend with a crucial fixture in the battle for European football. For today’s betting tip, we’ll be focusing on the important matchup between Manchester United and West Ham United at Old Trafford.
Ralph Rangnick’s tenure hasn’t brought the desired results for Manchester United fans. After a couple of wins to begin his management career in Manchester, they’ve failed to win in their last two fixtures. After a poor home defeat to Wolves, the Reds conceded a two goal lead to draw with Villa last time out.
Fortunately for United, the return of Cristiano Ronaldo seems imminent. The Portuguese legend has missed the last two with a niggling groin injury, and he seems ready to return for this weekend’s fixture with West Ham.
Whilst West Ham United have been the surprise package in 2021 and they still remain in the top four. However, the Hammers had a shocking defeat last time out - losing 3-2 to a Jack Harrison hattrick.
One key man missing for West Ham United for this weekend is Said Benrahma. The former Brentford man has been in electric form for David Moyes’ outfit and his absence was certainly felt last time out. Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna will both miss the game due to injuries.
These two sides have been involved in extremely close encounters during recent seasons. They have split wins during their two encounters this season - a 1-0 away win for West Ham and a 2-1 away win for United.
Manchester United did the double over David Moyes’ side last season but they haven’t been in thrilling form. Both sides need the win to keep on pace for a top four finish, and we would suggest United’s home advantage could play a huge part in the result.
We expect Manchetser United to get back to winning ways despite their poor form. David Moyes admitted his side were ‘tired’ when they played Leeds United last weekend, and we expect them to just fall short.
This is a tough one to call. However, we are predicting a Manchester United victory and both teams to score with SportNation at 45/17.
