Exactly one week on from the last encounter, Manchester United face off yet again, this time in the FA Cup at Old Trafford.

Manchester United Analysis

Manchester United were solid in their formation and difficult to break down against Liverpool last Sunday, however they arguably lacked the bravery to push for a goal against a Liverpool side who were far from their best. We see the United team being relatively unchanged for this one, with Bruno Fernades retaining his place despite a poor performance at Anfield and Luke Shaw putting in another top defensive performance.

Liverpool Analysis

Liverpool are now without a win in four Premier League games, their worst record since 2017. Although it’s defensive injuries that have plagued them of late, the problems are primarily at the other end, with the team lacking goals. Despite this, it seems likely that Klopp will still go ahead with his trusted front three of Salah, Mane and Firimino. Shaqiri is likely to start again as Klopp was reportedly happy with his impact on Sunday.

Head To Head Analysis

Three of the last four games between Manchester United and Liverpool have ended in draws, with two of the results being goalless at both ends. It’s a derby that has failed to live up to the hype of late and that’s a trend that could very likely continue. The one thing that could open things up this time round is the fact that Klopp doesn’t tend to take the cup seriously.

Our betting tip for today

Ole is still chasing his first win in this derby as United manager, and we’re backing him to finally get it this Sunday. We expect another low scoring affair though, with the game being decided by a single United goal, which you can back at odds of 10/3 with Bet365.
