The Netherlands are sitting pretty at the top of Group D having collected four points from a possible six. The Dutch took full advantage of a Kylian Mbappe-free France side last time out, which strengthened their claim to progress to the knockout stage.
They were very unfortunate to not have won the game when VAR controversially ruled out Xavi Simons goal, which would have taken them to the next stage ahead of this clash. However, they've shown an edge in front of goal which is key in knockout football.
Having lost to France in their opening match, Austria bounced back in style and put three past a poor Polish side. Once again, however, they were unable to keep a clean sheet, which is a concern coming up against the Netherlands.
Still, with plenty of firepower in attack, Austria will fancy themselves to cause the Dutch defence plenty of issues. We're likely to be very entertained in this clash.
Having lost just two of their last ten matches (against France and Germany), the Netherlands have been rather positive in the Euros, and they now have the knockout stage in their sight.
Having scored four against Scotland, Canada and Iceland in warm up friendlies, you could argue they weren't the toughest fixtures, but they've still been deadly in front of goal. They put two past Austria when they last met in 2021, and how they'd love to repeat that on Tuesday evening.
Austria came into this tournament full of hope, with many expecting them to be this tournament's dark horses. They still have a chance of progressing, but they will need to beat the Dutch in order to guarantee reaching the next stage.
They too, have only lost two matches in their last ten fixtures, one being Belgium (3-2) and the other was the 1-0 defeat in their opening Euros fixture. Their convincing win vs Poland and Turkey earlier in the year shows how capable they are on their day.
Christoph Baumgartner and Marko Arnautovic are two players who can break the Dutch defence in this final group match.
The Netherlands are in strong position in Group D, and know a point will see them qualify for the knockout stage. However, Austria won't bow out easily, and having shown how deadly they are in front of goal against Poland, expect a fast paced match, with plenty of goals on the cards.
Admittedly, the Netherlands drew 0-0 with France and it may be difficult for some to anticipate goals to follow when they need just a point to qualify. However, if they invite pressure, Austria have the players to punish a deep lying defence - especially with them chasing the win.
Netherlands will look to secure the win and qualify in style, which would see them land first place and arguably a "weaker" opponent in the next round. The incentive is there and they can't sit back. The fact Austria have also conceded in both games shows there is a weakness to exploit.
Austria need to attack, and have the players capable of finding the back of the net. The longer they chase the game, however, the more exposed they may become.
The Euros has delivered more goals than the average punter expected, and this match may be no different. With Austria having to attack, they could be left exposed, and the Dutch could strike on the counter. Either way, this one looks a cracker for the neutral, and I can't help but back over 2.5 goals at 6/7 with bet365.
