Super League Round 25 Betting Previews, Tips & Predictions - August 27-29th 2026

Publish Date: 29/08/2026
Fact checked by: Jordan Noble
Key Points
  • Warriors to beat understrength Robins?
  • Leeds to beat Saints?
  • Wolves to keep pressure on top 2?

There will be seven Super League matches taking place this weekend as the Betfred Super League reaches Round 25. The Thursday game between Wigan Warriors and Hull KR was expected to be a top of the table clash, but things have not worked out like that.

The Warriors are joint top with Leeds Rhinos on 38 points, while the Robins are down in sixth position and are fighting hard to actually make the play-offs.

Leeds Rhinos face a tricky encounter away at St Helens. A few weeks ago this would have been a certain win for the Rhinos, but they have picked up a few knocks and do not look as dominant as they were. Saints have not been good all season, but they are hanging around and could upset the leaders.

This page will feature previews of some of the biggest games taking place this weekend, including a special player anytime try scoring acca for each game.

Let's see if you agree with my predictions, you can also check out my Super League Round 25 acca and 1st try scorer bets.

Wigan Warriors vs Hull Kingston Rovers - Thursday, August 27th - 20:00 BST

This is a repeat of the 2025 Grand Final and the 2026 Challenge Cup Final, but I cannot see this being a competitive affair. Wigan sent a team full of kids to the Robins back in May and they were hammered 62-4 and were crucified by everyone for it. It helped Wigan because they were fresh for the Challenge Cup Final a week later and beat Rovers 40-10 at Wembley Stadium. Hull KR are doing the same this weekend. Yes they have injuries and suspensions, but they have played every week this season, and the tiredness is starting to show. Mikey Lewis and Tevita Pangai Jr are both suspended, while Tyrone May, Jez Litten, Tom Davies, Joe Burgess, Dean Hadley, James Batchelor and Elliot Minchella among the big names missing out. The Warriors welcome Sam Walters back after his third suspension, but they are still without Junior Nsemba, Liam Farrell and Jack Farrimond. This should have been one of the biggest games of the season as we head into the play-offs, but it looks like the Warriors will have things all their own way. Before the game, they will be paying tribute to club legend Sir Billy Boston after he passed away on Tuesday. I cannot see anything more than a comfortable win for Wigan, they are fully focused on the task in hand and will be looking to keep the pressure on Leeds Rhinos - who they play next week. I am going for a 26-30 points win for Wigan with Bevan French, Jai Field, Zach Eckersley and Adam Keighran all scoring tries.

St Helens vs Leeds Rhinos - Friday, August 28th - 20:00 BST

The battle to finish top and win the League Leaders Shield is starting to heat up. Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors are joint top, but the Yorkshire side has a much better points difference. These two lock horns next weekend in a game that will more than likely determine the destination of the shield. Before that, St Helens could do their hated rivals - Wigan - a huge favour by beating Leeds. There will be some Saints fans out there that would prefer to lose and miss out on the play-offs than help Wigan win a trophy. The players and coaching staff will not be thinking like that, but the fans will. The Rhinos have lost five games this season and, along with Wigan, have been the best all season. St Helens legend Jonny Lomax announced this week that he will be retiring at the end of the season, but he has been named in the squad to face Leeds as they will be without the suspended Jackson Hastings, who received a three-match ban for punching Castleford's Tyler Dupree last weekend. David Klemmer returns for Saints after recovering from broken ribs. Leeds welcome back Jack Bird and Danny Levi after recent injuries, while Jake Connor is expected to feature despite picking up a knock to his calf last weekend. James McDonnell, Maika Sivo, Keenan Palasia, Max Simpson and George Brown are all still missing. Both these teams have injuries or suspensions, but the Rhinos still have a very strong side. I am backing the Rhinos to win this game by 16-20 points with Brodie Croft scoring his 28th try of the campaign. I am also backing Lachie Miller and Jack Welsby both to cross over.

Hull FC vs Warrington Wolves - Saturday, August 29th - 20:00 BST

Warrington still have hopes of finishing top of the Super League ladder - although they are very slim hopes. They need to win all their remaining three matches and hope Leeds and Wigan lose two of their last three to have a chance. The Wolves have won their last five league matches against Castleford, Bradford, York, Hull KR and Huddersfield. They are in third place and are only two points behind league leaders Leeds and Wigan. Connor Bailey has been named in the Hull squad after being out for several months with a clavicle injury. Warrington are without Toafofoa Sipley after he fractured his leg against Hull KR, Ewan Irwin is also in the squad but he will be given as long as possible to prove his fitness. Cai Taylor-Wray is still out but Josh Thewlis and Joe Philbin both return. Warrington are in some good form, and I cannot see anything other than a win for the Wolves. Hull can be hit and miss on a weekly basis, so I am going with the Wolves to win by 16-20 points. When it comes to try scorers, I cannot look past Matty Ashton, while George Williams and James Bentley are backing up their team-mates with some important tries - so I am backing them to score as well.
