Super League Round 26 Betting Previews, Tips & Predictions - September 4-5th 2026

Publish Date: 04/09/2026
Fact checked by: Jordan Noble
Key Points
  • Round 26 this weekend
  • Top of the table clash
  • Leeds or Wigan battle it out for LLS

There will be seven Super League matches overall this weekend, although one game has already been played with Bradford Bulls beating Castleford Tigers 32-22 on Thursday evening.

The biggest game of the weekend and out featured preview will see joint leaders Leeds Rhinos take on Wigan Warriors at Headingley on Saturday night. The winner will go two points clear with one game remaining in the regular campaign, and with both teams playing sides next week with nothing to play for, it seems whoever wins on Saturday will win the League Leaders Shield.

Before that though, there are two matches on Friday night with something to play for. Hull KR occupy the sixth and final play-off spot and a win against Huddersfield Giants will boost their chances of clinching a top six spot.

St Helens, however, are seventh and they need to win against fifth ranked Leigh Leopards to have any chance of making the play-offs. The Saints play Hull KR in round 27, so keep an eye on their scores tonight to see if it has an impact on next week.

This page will feature a preview of the biggest game taking place this weekend, including a special player anytime try scoring acca for each game.

Let's see if you agree with my predictions, you can also check out my Super League Round 26 acca and 1st try scorer bets.

Leeds Rhinos vs Wigan Warriors - Saturday, September 5 - 20:00 BST

This is arguably the biggest game of the season so far in 2026. Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors both have 40 points thanks to 20 wins and five defeats from 25 matches. There are just two games to go in the regular season, so this effectively will decide who finishes top and wins the League Leaders Shield. These two met back in May at the Brick Community Stadium with the Warriors running out 24-4 winners with tries from Jack Farrimond, Adam Keighran, Noah Hodkinson and Jake Wardle. Leeds have improved that game, but so have Wigan - the Warriors have not lost in the league since May 21st and have gone 13 matches undefeated. The Warriors welcome back Junior Nsemba after missing the last eight matches with a hamstring problem, and coach Matt Peet has already revealed he will be playing at Headingley. Leeds have some good news on the injury front as well with leading try scorer Maika Sivo back in the squad after missing five games with a broken arm. James McDonnell could return to action following a pectoral injury, while Danny Levi will not be involved. This should be a close affair, but I am backing Wigan to win because I feel they have more matchwinners and star performers than Leeds. In my opinion, Leeds only perform if Jake Connor and Brodie Croft are on the same page, while Wigan can score from anywhere with Jai Field, Bevan French and Harry Smith all ready to step up if one of them is having an off day. Wigan will need to stop the ball getting wide to Sivo. He is dangerous from close range but doesn't have much after that. If Wigan keep their shape in attack and do not provide Sivo with an overlap, he will be kept quiet. This is just my opinion, I am backing the Warriors to win by 1-5 points with Adam Keighran and Zach Eckersley scoring for the Warriors, while I am backing Harry Newman to cross for the Rhinos.

Last 10 meetings:

Wigan 24, Leeds 4 (SLR11, 15/5/26)
