Sheffield United need to start winning games or their return back to the Championship will be confirmed sooner rather than later.

Chelsea have struggled this season, but their dramatic win over Manchester United on Thursday could spur them on to have a decent end to the campaign.

Sheffield United are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League ladder with 15 points and they have only won three league games all season.

Their last win in the Premier League was back in February when they defeated fellow strugglers Luton Town 3-1.

They have since gone six games without a victory - four defeats and two draws. They come into this clash on the back of a 3-1 away loss at title-chasing Liverpool.

Tom Davies, Daniel Jebbison, George Baldock, John Egan, Chris Basham and Rhian Brewster are all still on the sidelines for the Blades.

There is always some kind of drama at Chelsea, but this time it was on the pitch last week when they came from behind in injury time to beat Manchester United.

The Blues were trailing 3-2 heading into stoppage time, but two late goals from hat-trick hero Cole Palmer turned the game on its head and handed Chelsea a vital three points.

Chelsea are currently 10th on the league ladder and they are now only five points behind Manchester United in sixth position.

The Blues have injury problems of their own with Wesley Fofana, Reece James, Ben Chilwell and Lesley Ugochukwu all missing on Sunday.

Chelsea have won 36 of their 78 meetings against Sheffield United with 14 of them coming on the road in Yorkshire.

These two have already met this season with the Blues running out 2-0 winners at Stamford Bridge with Palmer and Nicolas Jackson getting on the score sheet.

Chelsea won on their last visit to Bramall Lane in 2021 as they won 2-1, while United last beat the London side on home soil back in 2020 with a comfortable 3-0 win.

The Blues have not won back-to-back league games at Bramall Lane since 1965, while Chelsea have been victorious in six of their last eight league matches against the Blades.
