Ukraine was disappointing in their opening-round encounter with Romania. Sergiy Rebrov’s men were stunned in that 3-0 beating. They dominated possession and made considerably more passes, but that was all they could offer. Ukraine managed just 0.75xG and failed to create a big chance.
The favourites need to show an improvement. The clash with Slovakia is massive. We know about the talent among this squad. They can turn things around.
I expect some changes from the manager. He wouldn’t have liked what he saw at the Allianz Arena. He and the nation will hope they can achieve the much-needed three points in Dusseldorf.
