Southampton and Man United lost their last Premier League matches before the international break, and both teams will be hoping the two week period has helped them to re-organise and go again.
It's been a harsh reality for Southampton since returning back to the Premier League, losing all three matches and scoring just once. Russell Martins side couldn't land a glove on Nottingham Forest in their first match at St Mary's this season and they'll need to show more if they can go toe-to-toe with Man United.
Ben Brereton Diaz, who has started all three games for the Saints, came off in the 35th minute for Chile against Bolivia and is a doubt for the fixture.
Although Southampton have yet to secure a point, Man United have also struggled to get going. Erik Ten Haag salvaged a win against Fulham late on but it's been nothing but disappointment since.
A last gasp loss against Brighton was followed up with a poor performance and result against arch-rivals Liverpool, who strolled to a 3-0 victory at Old Trafford. A win this weekend is key for the visitors if they are to challenge for a Champions League spot this season.
After Man United beat Southampton 9-0 back in 2021, it's not been quite as simple for the Red Devils to secure the three points against the Saints. Three draws have followed, the most recent in 2023 at Old Trafford which finished 0-0. However, their previous trip saw them collect the three points thanks to Bruno Fernandes' goal. How United fans would love for him to get back on the scoresheet.
The Portuguese international, who scored against Scotland, may have to produce some magic again with his side conceding five goals in their last two matches. Southampton have been lacking attacking prowess so far, but Ten Haag's team have been making way too many mistakes, inviting unnecessary pressure against Liverpool and Brighton.
However, there is a gulf in quality between the two sides, and this might be the perfect fixture for the visitors to pick up three points - but probably not nine goals this time round.
It's been a tough start for Southampton. They had a golden opportunity to pick up at least a point against Newcastle when Fabian Schar was sent off in the 25th minute, but the Saints couldn't find a way through.
It was a different story against Forest. This would have been a game Martin would have fancied his chances to get some points on the board, yet an xG of just 0.26 and one shot on target told you everything you need to know.
A trip to capital to face Brentford saw Southampton's defence exposed and if they defend like that this weekend, Man United will be gifted the points.
With Southampton offering next to nothing in the final third, and with Brereton Diaz sidelined, the Saints frustrating start to the campaign may be extended to four matches without a win.
With both sides failing to find their feet, it's difficult to know exactly how this game will play out after the international break. With nine of Man United's starting XI against Liverpool having jetted off to represent their countries, their could be some tired legs at St Mary's on Saturday.
That doesn't immediately point towards a home win, either. One goal in three matches simply won't cut it if the Saints are to remain in the Premier League, and without their main striker, Martin will need to reshuffle his plans ahead of the lunchtime kick-off.
You could argue that Ten Haag's side were unfortunate to not secure a point against Brighton, and if they had held on, bettors might not be quite so hesitant ahead of their trip to the south coast.
This leads me to our bet for the match. With Man United's tired internationals on their way back, and with Southampton certainly not impressing in the final third, goals aren't on the table. Instead, we're going with Man United to win and under 3.5 match goals at 17/10 with bet365.
