Switzerland's four points from their opening two matches has put them in a strong position to qualify for the next stage of the tournament. However, after impressing vs Hungary, a disappointing 1-1 draw followed against Scotland. Fortunately for the Swiss, Scotland's -4 goal difference has made it almost impossible for Switzerland to lose second spot no matter what happens against the Germans.
Two wins from two, as well as scoring seven goals, have pushed Germany into one of the favourites to win the tournament. Although they might be looking to rotate a few of their key players, they'll want to keep the momentum going into the knockout stage and extend their winning run. Having put five past Scotland, where the Swiss struggled, they should have enough class to impress in front of their home fans once more.
Switzerland are also enjoying a six-match unbeaten run since their defeat to Romania back in November 2023. Although draws against Denmark and Austria were impressive results, wins over Ireland and Estonia were a formality.
Germany will be their strongest opponents since Portugal in 2022, where Switzerland were hammered 6-1. Across 2023, the Swiss faced opponents largely ranked below them, which is why they may well struggle in their final Euros group match.
Since their back-to-back defeats against Turkey and Austria, the Germans are enjoying a six match unbeaten run, beating both the Netherlands and France along the way. As mentioned, Julian Nagelsmann's side are two from two at the Euros, with six different goalscorers already.
Jamal Musiala has scored in both games and if he starts against the Swiss, there's no reason why the 21-year-old can't add to his tally, as he continues to find pockets of space in the final third with ease. The Germans are looking strong, and other nations will be worried.
Germany are already into the knockout stages and although Switzerland are likely to join them, it'll be a shock if Germany don't put on a strong performance in front of their own fans. Rotations may hinder the scoreline, but it should impact the result.
Has there been a more impressive nation at the Euros so far? You could argue Spain have looked as good, but Germany have shown more cutting edge in the final third. Considering they were priced bigger than England at the start of the campaign is proving difficult to understand - but that's a completely different story for another day.
There may be a concern Germany will rotate, but with six different goalscorers from their opening two matches, there's a real connection within the camp which is clearly translating to the pitch. If Germany find their groove, the Swiss won't be able to compete.
Switzerland were impress vs Hungary, but were unconvincing against the Scots. A similar performance will simple see Germany continue their impressive winning run.
Germany are thoroughly enjoying themselves at the Euros, and it would take a brave individual to bet against them - rotation or not. The way in which they have been incredibly organised yet dangerous in the opponent's box is why I'm backing Germany to beat Switzerland and over 1.5 match goals at EVS with bet365.
