Tottenham will be hoping to put behind their Brighton loss behind them when London rivals West Ham make the short trip north of the capital on Saturday lunchtime.
After losing the North London derby, Spurs won five games on the spin across three different competitions, including a 3-0 victory against Man United at Old Trafford.
That progress looked as though it was going to continue when Ange Postecoglou's side raced into a two goal lead at the Amex Stadium. However, it wasn't to be as Brighton impressively scored three goals in 18 minutes to stun their opponents. It always feels as though it's one step forward and two back for Tottenham, who'll be hoping the international break has got that defeat out of their system.
One positive inside the camp has been the form of Brennan Johnson. The former Nottingham Forest winger has scored in his last six matches, ironically after having to shut down his social media channels due to online hate. The Welsh wizard also scored on international duty, and arrives back in England full of confidence.
It has been an up and down start to the campaign for West Ham, who were probably not happy with the timing of the international break having swept Ipswich Town aside 4-1.
That ended a run of five without a win, where they were on the end of a 5-1 hammering against league leaders Liverpool. On the road, it has been just the one victory against Crystal Palace, and this presents another difficult task, considering they have only won once at Spurs' shiny new stadium as of yet.
Ange Postecoglou isn't a man to keep his opinion to himself, who was very vocal about their embarrassing defeat against Brighton. Hopefully he's had time to calm down over the past to weeks, with his team in great form prior to that second half collapse.
Fortunately for the Australian, no one has returned back from international duty with an injury, although captain Heung-Min Son remains on the sidelines and it'll be a few weeks before he's fit and firing.
New forward Dominic Solanke was brought in for big money during the summer, and having forced his way back into the England set up, the 27-year-old looks settled in his new environment, having scored three goals in September.
Goals were proving to be an issue for the Hammers until their 4-1 victory over Ipswich. Four different goalscorers were on the board that afternoon, where forward Michail Antonio picked up his first Premier League goal of the season. Although 34, West ham still very much rely on his impact when leading the line.
Jarrod Bowen was also on the scoresheet against the Tractor Boys, and the England international now has two goals and two assists to his name, who will likely be their main threat on Saturday.
However, with one win in five on the road this season, West Ham need some fortune if they are to start climbing up the table.
Spurs will be hoping their collapse on the south coast doesn't impact their performance on Saturday afternoon. Although this a match both sets of fans will desperately want to win, the hosts can return to winning ways in what looks to be a cracking fixture.
Spurs' defeat against Brighton had rival fans laughing, but the international break arguably came at a good time for them. They've had a busy schedule, but even during that period they won five on the bounce. Some were pretty (Man United away), others were not (Coventry City), but they showed resilience and the ability to kill games off.
Yes, it was a disaster last time out, but for five and a half games, Spurs were showing everyone they can win football games. Brennan Johnson is in the form of his life, while James Maddison and Dominic Solanke have been chipping in with goals themselves. Scoring certainly hasn't been the issue - but the same can't be said for West Ham.
Take out their four goals against Ipswich, the Hammers had only scored six in six, which isn't good enough for a club eyeing up a potential European spot come the end of the season. They've also shown vulnerabilities from set pieces, and there's plenty of areas that the hosts will be looking to exploit on Saturday.
With that in mind, we're heading over to bet365's bet builder option, where we're backing Spurs to win and Brennan Johnson to have a shot on target at 11/10. Good luck to all that are following.
