The Premier League continues this weekend, with one matchday left before the international break. For today’s betting tip, we’ll be focusing on the important fixture in the Premier League this weekend between West Ham United and Liverpool at the London Stadium.
West Ham United are one of the most in-form teams in the Premier League. They are entering this weekend’s heavyweight clash with three straight victories. David Moyes’ side have four wins from five and find themselves in the final champions league spot - three points ahead of fifth-placed Manchester United.
To coincide with their good run of form, West Ham United should have the luxury of a fully fit squad. Vladimir Coufal has recovered from his injury but Ben Johnson has impressed whilst filling in. In addition, Alex Kral should return after his COVID-19 isolation period.
Through ten games, Liverpool remain the only undefeated side in the Premier League campaign this season. After thrashing Manchester United at Old Trafford, Liverpool surprisingly dropped points to Brighton and Hove Albion at Anfield. This result means they are three points adrift of Chelsea, but they could go top with a win over West Ham this weekend.
Liverpool do have a lengthy injury list. Harvey Elliott, Naby Keita and James Milner are all certainly out for this weekend’s fixture. Both Thiago and Fabinho could play but they aren’t 100% according to Jurgen Klopp.
Despite West Ham United’s unbelievable upturn in form in recent years, Liverpool has been a bogey team for the Hammers. The Merseyside outfit have dominated the fixture and haven’t tasted defeat since an FA Cup game back in 2016.
Even more surprisingly, both of West Ham United’s defeats this season have come at home. A 2-1 defeat to Brentford and late heartbreak to Manchester United places David Moyes’ side as a much better away performer than at the London Stadium. Whilst Klopp and co will look to extend their already impressive unbeaten run at West Ham’s expense.
The history of this fixture suggests that the two teams should have an entertaining encounter. Both teams usually score and Liverpool usually win but just because of how impressive West Ham have been - it’s a double chance bet for us. So we’re predicting over 2.5 goals, both teams to score, and Liverpool to win or draw.
