Wolves face Crystal Palace on Saturday evening in front of the Sky Sports cameras with both sides looking to pull away from the relegation zone after poor starts. Can Wolves bag their first win of the season in front of their fans?
It's now just two draws and seven defeats for Wolves this season, who currently occupy 19th place with only Southampton in behind. Performances have slowly been improving of late, having almost snatched a point against Man City when last seen at Molineux.
However, they redeemed themselves with two late, late goals on the road against Brighton, where Rayan Ait-Nouri and Matheus Cunha rescued what could be a crucial point come the end of the season.
All points are welcome, but if Wolves are to survive they need to start winning games - starting this weekend against Crystal Palace.
Palace do head into this fixture having finally won their first Premier League match last weekend. Fans must have felt a victory was coming, and they secured a 1-0 win over London rivals Tottenham, which was backed up with a 2-1 win against Aston Villa in the EFL Cup.
Narrow defeats against Everton, Liverpool and Nottingham Forest did indicate a result was around the corner, and they will be full of confidence heading to Wolverhampton on Saturday. A win could see them leapfrog Man United into mid-table, and all of a sudden Palace can start looking up rather than worrying what's behind them.
This fixture has definitely not disappointed in recent years, with four of the last five head-to-head meetings producing over 2.5 goals and both teams to score. Last season, Palace came away with all three points after a 3-1 win, although Michael Olise, who opened the scoring, has since moved to Bayern Munich.
And while goals haven't been flowing for Palace, Wolves matches have been packed with them. Their last eight matches has seen both teams find the back of the net, and the last seven have produced at least three goals. Although Wolves are shipping in plenty of goals, they have scored in their every match since their opening day defeat to Arsenal.
If Wolves are to score or secure valuable points, they will need Matheus Cunha to lead the line as he has been doing. The Brazilian has scored three goals in his last five matches.
Palace have a top striker themselves. Jean-Philippe Mateta has had a slow start to the season, but that can perhaps be forgiven due to representing France in the summer Olympics. The 27-year-old scored the winner against Spurs, who was set up by England international Eberechi Eze.
The 26-year-old scored midweek against Aston Villa in the EFL Cup, and he may be the answer to unlock Wolves fragile looking defence on Saturday evening.
With Wolves starting to edge towards their first victory, as well as Crystal Palace finding their stride, we are all set for an entertaining clash under the lights.
Wolves can't stop scoring, but they also can't stop conceding. For the neutral, they are almost the perfect team to watch if you want 90 minutes of almost guaranteed goals. For a supporter of the club, they will take a boring 1-0 win at this rate.
However, that seems unlikely - especially with Palace arriving in good form after securing back-to-back victories for the first time this campaign. One could argue they were unfortunate to not score or get a point against Forest away, only for Matz Sels to pull off multiple world class saves.
Both teams seemingly have no issues in the final third, and both are teams that weren't predicted to be at the bottom of the table come May. Tensions will be high, but both teams enjoy bursting forward and shooting - and with recent head-to-heads producing plenty of goals, that's our theme for our main tip this weekend.
With Wolves desperate for points, but with Palace looking just as menacing in the final third as their opponents, there's only one way we are going to play this. We're recommending over 2.5 goals and BTTS Yes at 23/20 with bet365. Good luck to all that choose to follow.
