The champions travel to Molineux on Sunday as they prepare to face a Wolves side languishing in last place. Pep Guardiola will be looking to close the gap on league leaders Liverpool but it might not be as easy as some punters are suggesting.
Having picked up one point from their opening seven Premier League matches, Wolves are in real trouble already at this stage of the season. Aside from their draw against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, it has been defeat after defeat for Gary O'Neil's side.
However, it has been a tough run for them. Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle, Brighton, Aston Villa, Liverpool and Brentford has been quite the task for the Midlands club.
And it doesn't get any easier on Sunday when the champions come to town. Can they snatch an unlikely point?
Pep Guardiola's team have yet to taste defeat this season but they've shown plenty of vulnerabilities without Rodri. They may have beaten Fulham 3-2 before the international break, but the London-based club had plenty of opportunities to win it, never mind stealing a point.
Aside from the opening day, Man City have failed to keep a clean sheet in the Premier League, and that cannot continue if they are to keep hold of their title come the end of the season. A slip up against Wolves would be completely unacceptable to their fans.
Man City hammered Wolves 5-1 the last time they met each other at the Etihad, but in the reverse leg, Wolves came out on top 2-1. A Ruben Dias own goal helped the hosts on their way before a second half strike from Hee-Chan Hwang sealed a famous victory.
Dias already has one own goal this season (away against West Ham), but Hwang won't feature this time round, having picked up an injury on international duty against Jordan. Another body in the treatment room was the last thing O'Neil needed.
Aside from that victory, the other four most recent meetings have all gone the way of Man City, showing the size of the task Wolves face on Sunday.
However, where fans can have some hope is how effective their side have been in front of goal. Aside from their opening day defeat against Arsenal, Wolves have scored in their last eight matches across all competitions. Scoring hasn't been an issue, but defending has.
They brought in Fluminense's Andre to play in the no.6 role, who has instilled confidence within the midfield, but Wolves defence has been all at sea in recent weeks. They may need a minor miracle if they are to patch up their back line before Man City arrive.
Man City won't want to be the first team to fall short against Wolves, and although this should be fairly routine for the visitors, the home side have shown enough that they can get on the scoresheet.
As I've mentioned above, Wolves have only failed to score once this season. Goals against Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle and Aston Villa have all been rather impressive. Their biggest issue, however, has been keeping up their tempo across 90 minutes. They've shown snippets of what they are capable of - that will certainly stretch Man City's defence - but they need to keep that up for the entire match.
A win is surely around the corner for Wolves, but against the champions, it appears unlikely that it'll be this weekend. Man City have been vulnerable defensively, yet have continued to find ways to win or rescue key points - a sign of champions.
The international break came at a good time for both teams, but with Man City having a high volume of players travelling across the globe, Wolves can perhaps continue their goalscoring run at the very least.
There's a huge focus on Man City, which is reflected in their skinny price, but with bet365's bet builder option you can back over 2.5 goals and both teams to score at evens - which is my preferred angle here. Good luck to those that tail the bet.
