Champions Manchester City will be looking to continue their 100% start to the Premier League season when they visit lowly Wolves on Saturday afternoon. The home side currently have just four points to their name, so anything other than a comfortable away win would represent a huge shock.

It’s hard not to feel some sympathy for Gary O’Neill. He was thrust into the Wolves job on the eve of the season and has had to cope with the departure of several key players.
The away win at Everton in August looked like being a springboard to better things, but a series of poor second half displays have seen them pick up just one more point from the following three games. The midweek League Cup defeat to Ipswich has further added to the gloom surrounding the club and O’Neill needs to turn things around very quickly to save his job.
Six wins from six have seen City carry on where they left off in the Premier League. Erling Haaland (7 in 6) is once again scoring for fun, Julian Alvarez is in the form of his life and new signing Jeremy Doku has slotted seamlessly into the team.
Wednesday’s League Cup defeat to Newcastle came completely out of the blue, but given Pep Guardiola’s refusal to use Haaland from the bench, it is tempting to say that City were not taking the game completely seriously. When it comes to League games, City have lost just once since February, a dead rubber defeat to Brentford after the league title had been secured.
Whilst the overall head-to-head is very close (54-49 in City’s favour) recent fixtures have all gone City’s way. They have won the last six encounters between the teams by a combined score of 19-3.
As you would expect, City are big favourites to claim all three points. The best football betting odds you can get on an away win are just 1/3. Wolves are as long as 9/1 for the victory, with the draw best priced at 19/4.
It’s hard to make a case for anything other than an easy City victory. They are looking unstoppable in the League and we don’t think you can read anything into their midweek Carabao Cup defeat.
It’s looking like a season of struggle for Wolves, and whilst this game is somewhat of a free hit, it is impossible to see how they will be able to keep City at bay. Clearly, the odds on an away win are not very attractive, but they can form a solid addition to any weekend accas.
