There's another World Cup semi-final spot on the line on Friday as Spain take on Belgium. The European champions have yet to concede a goal this summer and have grown into the competition, which is why they are the clear favourites to progress to the final four.

However, the Red Devils will have something to say about that. After a slow start in the group stage, Belgium's bold comeback against Senegal before hammering USA 4-1 certainly makes them a lively outsider in this contest.

Spain vs Belgium

After Spain's disastrous start to the World Cup with their 0-0 draw with Cape Verde, many punters immediately starting looking elsewhere for an outright winner. And while Cape Verde bowed out of the World Cup in the round of 32, they left having not lost a match inside 90 minutes.

Not only did they hold Spain - who completely dominated from start to finish - but Cape Verde also held Uruguay and Argentina, scoring two past both South American nations. So, was the result as bad as people are making out? Perhaps not, after all.

Since that 0-0 draw, Spain have won all four matches. More impressively, they have yet to conceded a goal at this World Cup and are it's safe to say they are growing into this new-look, longer format.

Once topping their group, Spain put in a fine performance against Austria in their 3-0 win. They dominated xG (2.80) and their opponents failed to have a single shot on target. Against Portugal, it took a last minute winner, but it was more than deserved with Spain once again dominating the statistics.

Mikel Oyarzabal has led the line perfectly, while Mikel Merino stepped off the bench to score the winner vs Portugal. Throw in Dani Olmo and, of course, Lamine Yamal, and it's not difficult to see why this Spain side is flourishing on the biggest stage.

Belgium's unbeaten record will once again be tested - and arguably this will be their toughest match to date. They were able to top their group despite only beating New Zealand, and then they looked dead and buried before Senegal pressed the self destruct button in the round of 32.

The USA result - and performance - was fantastic. And it was certainly one we hadn't seen to date at this World Cup. However, was that a case of the USA also testing themselves against a decent European side for the first time at this World Cup? And the interference from Donald Trump to get Folarin Balogun back on the pitch only fired up the Belgians more to come out on top.

Unfortunately for the Red Devils, Spain's defence will certainly not be as open as the US' was, and that could be a problem. Aside from that match - and 30 minutes against Senegal - Belgium have looked far from convincing.

With that in mind, I'm sticking up Spain and under 4.5 goals at 1/1 with BetMGM.

However, if I'm going to look for a hero to write his own headlines it's hard to look past Oyarzabal.

The Real Sociedad forward enters the match having scored four goals - including two vs Austria - and with so many creative outlets around him, chances will come against this fragile looking defence.

Belgium have kept one clean sheet from five (Iran) and their defending against Senegal in the round of 32 was almost inexcusable. There's little to no time to address that, which is why Oyarzabal's price to find the back of the net for a fifth time this World Cup is rather appealing.
