World Cup Betting Tips Today: Predictions & Best Bets for July 11th

The last two World Cup semi-final spots are set to be filled as England take on Norway before reigning champions Argentina will face Switzerland in the early hours of Sunday morning.

England did what many nations haven't done to be here, conquering Mexico at the Azteca while Norway stunned Brazil thanks to Erling Haaland's second half brace. A heatwave is expected in Miami, but which nation will deal with the conditions and pressure the best?

And then it's over to the Argentines who will be hoping to have an easier time than they did against Egypt. Their historic win saw them come from 2-0 behind to win inside normal time - and once again Lionel Messi was on the scoresheet. But will Switzerland simply roll over? They will surely be inspired after both Cape Verde and Egypt made Argentina seriously work in the knockout stages.

Our World Cup tipster Nathan Joyes is back with his best bets for the last two quarter final clashes. Read his World Cup tips below.

England vs Norway

All eyes are on England as they look to reach the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup. Confidence within the camp will be extremely high after beating Mexico in their own back yard - especially considering they had to fight with 10 men for over 30 minutes.

Jordan Pickford pulled off a series of incredible saves to keep his nation in it, but once again at the other end of the pitch it was Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham that were on the scoresheet for England when it truly mattered.

Harry Kane is still in the running for the golden boot, and although two behind Lionel Messi, he's not a bad bet at 8/1 to at least finish in the top two - especially if he fires against Norway and has another chance to add to his tally in the semi-finals.

But, as mentioned, England are not a one trick pony. Jude Bellingham's quickfire brace stunned Mexico and he could be key once again. Norway's defence hasn't impressed this summer, failing to keep a clean sheet, even against Iraq.

Right-back Ryverson may start but he isn't 100% match fit and there's been whispers of illnesses within the camp. But away from that noise, Norway have conceded from wide areas - and a header if we go back to the Iraq match - and that brings Bellingham back into conversation.

Harry Kane is a shades of odds-on once more and so instead I'm looking at this almost strike partner to bag at a much bigger price. Norway's defence can't be trusted and while the main focus is going to be on Kane, Bellingham's late runs and aerial threat are perfect reasons why he can find the back of the net.

The result looks a little trickier to predict, and England may be a touch too short in the market at odds-against - but this goalscorer bet certainly isn't.

With that in mind, I'm sticking up Jude Bellingham to score at 11/4 with BetMGM.

Argentina vs Switzerland

Argentina have now survived two scares at this World Cup post group stage. First up, they couldn't beat Cape Verde in normal time despite taking the lead at half-time, before they were made to work incredibly hard when 2-0 down vs Egypt with less than 20 minutes on the clock.

But this is what champions do. They didn't panic in either match and turned it on at the right time to come out on top. Defensively, there's clearly work for Lionel Scaloni to sort ahead of this clash, but in the final third Argentina are arguably one of the most dangerous at this World Cup.

Lionel Messi scored his 8th goal of the tournament to draw Argentina level against Egypt, and he will no doubt be a popular bet once again. However, at odds-against, I'm going to look elsewhere rather than focusing one just one individual.

Switzerland won the battle of the penalties against Colombia, and although they were impressive vs Algeria in the round of 32, they haven't bumped into anyone quite on Argentina's level just yet.

Qatar, Canada and Bosnia presented a rather weak group, yet still there were moments in those matches where Switzerland were very much second best. Their approach can be rather lethargic at times and they can struggle to shift up a gear - which is a concern against the nation that does that better than anyone.

Switzerland will look to be inspired by what Cape Verde and Egypt almost achieved, but their midfield is a lot slower than those two nations and they lack a cutting edge in the final third to trouble the best in the business.

With that in mind, I'm backing Argentina and under 4.5 goals at 10/11 with BetMGM.

Betting Tips
