World Cup Betting Tips Today: Predictions & Best Bets for July 1st

The knockout stages of the 2026 World Cup continue on Wednesday where England are back in action. Thomas Tuchel's Three Lions will face DR Congo for a place in the last 16, while USA will be hoping to achieve the same against Bosnia. The final match is a belter, as Belgium line up vs AFCON finalists Senegal

England vs DR Congo

England have found life a little tougher than expected at the World Cup. After an exciting 4-2 win over Croatia, a drab 0-0 with Ghana followed. England were able to beat Panama 2-0 but it took into the second half for them to break down a poor side.

Still, Tuchel has done what he needed to do and now it's crunch time. However, if he can't get his team firing as we saw in round one, there's going to be issues for England at this World Cup. Supporters would like to think that they have now adapted to the climate and conditions, but now there's no time for excuses with this talented squad.

DR Congo know all about frustrating teams. Just ask Portugal, who only had seven shots at goal when they drew 1-1 in round one. The African nation will understand that if they go toe-to-toe with England they will be punished, and a more reserved, disciplined performance - like Ghana's - will serve them well.

England are finding it difficult in the conditions to break teams down and that trend could well continue - even if they do squeeze into the next round.

With that in mind, I'm sticking up Under 2.5 goals at 10/11 with BetMGM.

USA vs Bosnia

USA were excellent in their opening two matches which saw them finish top and qualify before facing Turkiye in round three. They lost that match, but it's important to note there was plenty of rotation from Mauricio Pochettino and yet his side still managed to score two goals.

Scoring certainly hasn't been an issue for the Argentine. His team have scored eight goals already and Bosnia will need to be at their best - and more - if they are to stop the co-hosts from making it four World Cup games in a row where they have found the back of the net.

Folarin Balogun - who scored a brace vs Paraguay - was rested against Turkiye and will return to the starting XI. As will Christian Pulisic who was responsible for assisting Balogun in round one. Those two are going to be a handful in this fixture.

Bosnia held Canada in round one before Switzerland easily brushed them to one side 4-1. A win against Qatar sealed their qualification, but their 3-1 scoreline rather flattered them. The Asians had a host of opportunities when the score was 2-1 and a similar performance would see them knocked out.

It's incredibly difficult to look beyond the hosts. USA have been terrifying in the final third and Bosnia may not be able to cope with their intensity and movement. USA are clear favourites, but adding in goals certainly boosts their price.

Therefore, I'm happy to play USA to win and over 2.5 goals at 21/20 with BetMGM.

Belgium vs Senegal

Belgium may have topped the group but they have looked far from impressive. Two back-to-back draws against Egypt and Iran certainly frustrated their supporters and although qualification was secured with a dominant win over New Zealand, that result certainly hasn't papered over the cracks.

Disjointed both at the back and in front of goal, Belgium's squad appears to be going through a transitional period of both young and old players. And with Jeremy Doku out of the tournament, the Red Devils have lost one of their best players in the final. That could be the difference and another early exit could be on the cards.

Senegal had a much tougher group and one that Belgium would have been ripped apart in. A 3-1 loss against France was down to some Mbappe magic, while a narrow defeat vs Norway - despite scoring two - was also a tough result to take.

Although the Africans need to improve defensively, they have posed a serious threat to both the favourites and dark horses within this competition, and they'll be confident a performance to a similar level will certainly trouble an under pressure Belgian side. The Red Devils are favourites - but that looks harsh on Senegal who are the value play in this one.
