World Cup Betting Tips Today: Predictions & Best Bets for June 22nd

Day 12 of the World Cup has a quartet of intriguing fixtures to look forward to. Perhaps the tastiest is the opening match between Norway and Senegal. France will look to make it two wins from two against Iraq, while the world champions are back as they take on Austria. The day concludes as Jordan and Algeria clash hoping to get their first points on the board.

Our World Cup tipster Nathan Joyes has been smashing in the winner and has returned to provide his best World Cup tips below.

Norway vs Senegal

Norway started their World Cup campaign off with a 4-1 win against Iraq. But while they were so dominant at one end of the pitch, another game passed them by without a clean sheet - and that could be key here.

The Europeans have only kept two clean sheets in their last 10 matches - a friendly vs Switzerland and a 5-0 win against Israel. Senegal, however, missed several big chances against France that came back to haunt them in the second half. However, they dug deep and scored late on - and it's fair to say they deserved a goal for their efforts.

This is a huge match for the Africans, and they can't afford to lose. However, keeping Erling Haaland and co quiet may be a tall order, and this game certainly looks as though it will implode - and the goals can certainly flow.

Therefore, I'm sticking up BTTS Yes at 8/11 BetMGM.

France vs Iraq

After a lacklustre first 45 minutes against Senegal, France turned it up a notch and looked very strong in the second half. Of course, Kylian Mbappe played his part, scoring two goals as France came away from the match with a 3-1 victory.

With so much depth to their squad, France are real contenders to go all the way this summer. Didier Deschamps has also made it clear he won't rotate nor take Iraq for granted, and is gunning for all three points and qualification - and more goals.

Iraq made life difficult for Norway at times, but silly mistakes cost them and Norway's overall quality shone through. Careless mistakes cost them and concentrating for 90 minutes against an elite nation caught them out - and now they'll face an even tougher opponent.

France will have a spring in their step after brushing aside Senegal, and stopping Mbappe might be the impossible task for Iraq. Sadly, even if they keep him quiet, there's so much quality in reserve that France will win this comfortably.

My main tip is France -2.5 Handicap at 4/5 with BetMGM.

Argentina vs Austria

Argentina's opening round win was all about Lionel Messi. Now, whether he should have been sent off or not is another debate but he remained on the pitch to score a hattrick and steal the headlines - as per usual.

Austria will present a different test for the reigning champions but although they won 3-1 against Jordan, the scoreline was perhaps a little generous for the European side. A 101st minute penalty sealed all three points, but Jordan caused Austria plenty of problems - a concern before facing the best player in world football.

As with our winning tip last time, Argentina are a side that knows how to win professionally. That's no 12 of their last 15 matches have seen Argentina win and under 3.5 goals. If it's not broken, there's no need to change the proven strategy. Argentina can win this comfortably.

My main tip is to back the Argentina and under 3.5 match goals at 5/4 with BetMGM.

Jordan vs Algeria

Jordan's debut didn't quite go to plan but they still managed to make Austria sweat. Not only did they score, but they also had 11 shots and for a nation expected to sit back and hold out for a point, Jordan did the opposite to what people expected.

Algeria were outdone by a classful Argentina - but they also showed vulnerabilities defensively, with plenty of gaps appearing in their own half. Jordan will know they can hurt Algeria on the counter or if they press high.

But the same can be said for the Africans. It would be foolish to rule Algeria out based on their opening match. As long as that hasn't knocked too much confidence out of them, this is a squad stacked with attacking quality that can hurt Jordan's defence.

At this point in the tournament, both teams will need to go for it, and goals has been priced in favour of the punters on this occasion.

Therefore, my main tip is BTTS Yes at 19/20 with BetMGM.
