World Cup Betting Tips Today: Predictions & Best Bets for June 23rd

Day 13 of the World Cup sees England back in action against Ghana, while Croatia will look to bounce back vs Panama. Portugal will also look to rectify their round one result when they face Uzbekistan. Colombia, on the other hand, can qualify with a win vs DR Congo.

Our World Cup tipster Nathan Joyes has been smashing in the winner and has returned to provide his best World Cup tips below.

England vs Ghana

Although there are defensive issues to resolve, England looked a real threat in the final third as they put four past Croatia. Thomas Tuchel's side looked aggressive in front of goal and came out for the second half all guns blazing - and the Three Lions have got people talking for that performance.

Once again, Harry Kane was on fire but the changes Tuchel could make and keep his XI as strong as what he started with is what will make England dangerous this summer. It also made it difficult for Croatia who could only weaken their team in the second period, and that was the difference come 90 minutes.

Next up for England: Ghana. The Africans certainly didn't look convincing in front of goal against Panama and although they came out on top, England shouldn't be concerned. With just two shots on target - and seven all match - Ghana will struggle to create anything meaningful vs England, who can run out comfortable winners - only this time with a clean sheet.

Therefore, I'm sticking up England to win to nil at 7/10 BetMGM.

Panama vs Croatia

Panama were punished for not taking their chances against Ghana when conceding in the final minute to lose in round one. Now against Croatia, they are well and truly up against it to qualify out of the group.

Croatia more than held their own against England in the first 45 minutes before falling short in the second half. Still, Croatia can be a dangerous side in this group and they are expected to follow England into the knockout stages.

Although an ageing squad, Dallas' Petar Musa will be a constant threat for Croatia as long as they stay in this competition. He, alongside Como's Martin Baturina, both scored vs England and will carry a threat once again.

Panama ran out of ideas vs a poor Ghana side and Croatia can pick them off in round two and get their first points on the board at this World Cup.

My main tip is Croatia to win and under 4.5 goals at 3/4 with BetMGM.

Portugal vs Uzbekistan

Portugal were left frustrated against DR Congo in round one with a 1-1 draw. More alarming was the fact they only had seven shots in a match they were supposed to dominate. Now up against one of the weaker nations at this World Cup, fans will expect a much better performance from of the market favourites to win the tournament.

Uzbekistan couldn't handle Colombia in their first ever World Cup match. They managed to equalise, but it was largely down to Colombia's goalkeeper having a disastrous moment, and when Colombia upped the tempo, the Asians couldn't live with them.

And that's exactly what Portugal will have to do to succeed here. DR Congo are a stronger, more defensive unit, and many will be hoping they were just underrated ahead of round one. Portugal have too much talent within their ranks to not beat Uzbekistan. It may not be a classic, but they can get three points on the board and challenge Colombia for top spot.

My main tip is to back the Portugal HT/FT and over 1.5 goals at 8/11 with BetMGM.

Colombia vs DR Congo

Colombia's attacking threat was prevalent against Uzbekistan as three different goalscorers got on the scoresheet in their 3-1 victory. There's work to do, especially with a limited choice of top quality goalkeepers, but Colombia look a real threat at this World Cup who will have support wherever they travel.

DR Congo held Portugal to a 1-1 draw and while everyone was slating the favourites in that match, there wasn't much credit to the way DR Congo set up to frustrate their opponents.

However, can they do it two games in a row? It's going to be tough. Luis Diaz, Luis Suarez, Jhon Arias and James Rodriguez were all on it against Uzbekistan. Counters, pressing high and insane movement in the final third meant Colombia were almost too difficult to deal with - and that could be the case once more.

There may be less goals in round two for the South Americans but they can edge past DR Congo and bank a place in the next round.

Therefore, my main tip is Colombia to win and under 4.5 goals at 8/11 with BetMGM.
