World Cup Accumulator Tips

The World Cup knockout stage continued to deliver surprises on Monday as Germany and the Netherlands both crashed out, but normal service resumed on Tuesday with France comfortably seeing off Sweden.

Kylian Mbappe was back among the goals, while Erling Haaland also found the net as Norway progressed, ensuring the race for the Golden Boot remains packed with some of the biggest names in world football.

France have further strengthened their position at the head of the outright market. Argentina are now their nearest challengers, followed by England, who begin their knockout campaign against DR Congo on Wednesday.

The Three Lions recovered from a frustrating goalless draw with Ghana by beating Panama to top Group L with seven points.

Wednesday's other two ties feature sides further down the betting board. Belgium have drifted significantly in the outright market after an underwhelming group stage and now face Senegal, who squeezed through as the eighth-ranked third-placed team.

The USA complete Wednesday's schedule against Bosnia and Herzegovina, with Mauricio Pochettino's side expected to progress.

England v DR Congo - Yoane Wissa Over 0.5 Shots on Target (27/25)

England's response to the draw with Ghana was largely encouraging, but the win over Panama was not without its defensive concerns.

The Three Lions were exposed in behind more often than Thomas Tuchel would have wanted, with Panama finishing the match with 13 shots despite seeing relatively little of the ball.

DR Congo are likely to spend long periods defending, at least until England break the deadlock, but they should still create a few opportunities. If they do, Yoane Wissa is the man they'll want on the end of them.

The Newcastle United forward has already registered nine shots at this World Cup, including two against Portugal, and has scored three times in the tournament. Used to facing Premier League defenders every week, he looks a decent price to test Jordan Pickford at least once.

Belgium v Senegal - Brandon Mechele Over 1.5 Fouls (29/20)

Senegal's decision to move away from Nicolas Jackson paid off handsomely against Iraq, with Ismaila Sarr leading the line instead of operating out wide.

The Crystal Palace forward scored once and set up another in the 5-0 win, while continuing to do what he does best without the ball. Sarr was fouled twice, matching the total he drew from a wider role against Norway, and constantly caused problems with his movement.

Assuming he keeps his place through the middle, Brandon Mechele looks the obvious player to oppose. The Belgium defender has committed 2, 1 and 2 fouls across his three World Cup appearances, regularly stepping in tight to centre-forwards to stop attacks developing.

That approach should bring him into plenty of battles with Sarr, making over 1.5 fouls an appealing play at the price.

USA v Bosnia and Herzegovina - Over 6.5 USA Corners & Folarin Balogun to Score (19/5)

Bosnia and Herzegovina have been one of the less convincing sides to reach the knockout stage. They surrendered a half-time lead against Canada before suffering a heavy defeat to Switzerland, who themselves had looked poor earlier in the tournament.

Victory over Qatar eventually proved enough to scrape through, although even that match was far from comfortable.

It's difficult to see Bosnia taking the game to the USA here. A compact defensive approach looks far more likely, with Sergej Barbarez's side aiming to frustrate rather than engage in an open contest.

That should hand the initiative to Pochettino's team, making over 6.5 USA corners appealing. Canada and Switzerland both reached at least seven against Bosnia, while the USA also cleared that line against both Turkey and Australia.

Once the breakthrough arrives, Folarin Balogun looks the likeliest scorer. The striker averages 3.34 shots per 90 for the United States and underlined his finishing ability with a brace against Paraguay.

Accumulator Odds 23/1

Wednesday's acca is built around three very different angles. Yoane Wissa has already shown he can trouble elite opposition and only needs one effort on target to land the opening leg, Brandon Mechele looks set for another physical evening against the lively Ismaila Sarr, while the USA should dominate territory against Bosnia and Herzegovina, creating enough pressure for both the corner line and Folarin Balogun to come into play.

Combined, the selections create a 23/1 accumulator with BetMGM.
