World Cup Accumulator Tips

World Cup 2026 rolls into day five on Monday with another four matches on the card and attention turning towards Groups G and H, which become the latest sections to begin their campaigns.

Throughout the tournament, Ben Smith will provide our 2026 World Cup betting tips in the form of an acca for each matchday using odds from BetMGM, looking beyond traditional match betting to target player and team statistics, cards, shots and other side markets.

Sunday's 42/1 World Cup acca was a winner for Ben as Jamal Musiala scored for Germany, Virgil van Dijk hit the target for the Netherlands, John Yeboah had over 2.5 shots, and Yann Valery made over 1.5 fouls.

By this stage, we will already have seen opening fixtures completed in Groups A to F, with Sunday introducing teams including Germany and the Netherlands. Monday’s schedule now brings the first look at another eight nations.

Group H gets underway in Atlanta as Spain face Cape Verde before Saudi Arabia meet Uruguay in Miami Gardens. Group G kicks off with Belgium opening against Egypt in Seattle and Iran taking on New Zealand in Inglewood.

There are fewer heavyweight clashes than on previous days, but opening group matches continue to present opportunities to find value in less obvious areas of the markets.

Spain v Cape Verde - Dailon Livramento Over 0.5 Shots on Target (9/5)

Dailon Livramento has become Cape Verde’s main attacking outlet and arrives at this World Cup off the back of four goals during qualification. The Hellas Verona forward gives them a real threat in attacking areas and one Spain ought to be wary of.

Cape Verde also tend to be more proactive than many expect from a smaller nation. They are willing to commit numbers in attack, play with width and back their forwards to create chances.

The price on their main man to register a shot on target does come as a surprise.

Belgium v Egypt - Mohamed Hany Over 1.5 Fouls (6/5)

Egypt have qualified for the World Cup three times before but the Pharaohs are still waiting to make a significant impact on the tournament. Their preferred approach is to stay compact and make life difficult for opponents.

Belgium are expected to pose very different questions. Rudi Garcia has generally leaned towards attack-minded systems that get his wide players involved early and create overloads in advanced areas.

That naturally brings Jeremy Doku into focus. Few players are better at isolating defenders and driving directly at them, and the Manchester City winger drew more than three fouls per 90 across last season.

Mohamed Hany looks the most likely man tasked with containing him. The Egypt right-back committed two fouls in the warm-up against Brazil and this feels like another difficult assignment.

Saudi Arabia v Uruguay - Federico Valverde Over 2.5 Shots (11/8)

Saudi Arabia arrive with relatively modest expectations and look more likely to focus on staying compact and limiting space than opening the game up. Marcelo Bielsa’s side head into the tournament with a few question marks of their own around recent performances and whether his intense style is suitable.

What Uruguay do possess, though, is Federico Valverde. One of the world’s elite midfielders, he has relentless running power plus quality on the ball and is never afraid to shoot from distance.

Even if Saudi Arabia defend deep and try to crowd central areas, Valverde should still find opportunities to pull the trigger. He had three shots in each of Uruguay’s March internationals, including against England where he scored a stoppage-time equaliser from the penalty spot.

Iran v New Zealand - Chris Wood to Score (23/10)

New Zealand may not have the depth of quality found elsewhere in this tournament, but they do possess one player capable of making a difference. Chris Wood has carried the goalscoring burden for years and remains by some distance the country’s standout attacking talent.

The Nottingham Forest forward gives them a route to compete in games they may otherwise struggle to control. His experience, physical presence and ability inside the box make him the obvious focal point whenever New Zealand get forward.

New Zealand are odds-on to find the net against this ageing Iran side, but rather than backing the team market, there looks more value in siding with their main man at a far bigger price.

Accumulator Odds 48/1

Monday’s selections are built around players who should see plenty of involvement whether that be in attack or defence.

Livramento looks capable of giving Spain something to think about if Cape Verde show the attacking intent they usually do, while Hany faces one of the toughest individual assignments of the opening round up against Doku.

Valverde should not lack opportunities to shoot even if Saudi Arabia sit deep, and if New Zealand do get on the scoresheet, there is every chance their talisman Chris Wood is the man responsible.

Put together, the four selections combine into a 48/1 World Cup acca with BetMGM.
