World Cup Accumulator Tips

Day 13 of the World Cup keeps the second round of group games moving, and there are a few highly fancied teams back in action.

Throughout the tournament, Ben Smith will provide our 2026 World Cup betting tips with a daily acca using BetMGM odds, focusing on player and team statistics, disciplinary markets, shots and other alternative angles rather than traditional match betting.

England return after one of the more impressive opening displays of the tournament, Colombia look to build on a convincing win over Uzbekistan, and Portugal will seek improvement after being held by DR Congo. Croatia are also back in action needing a response after struggling against England.

The schedule starts at 6pm UK time with Portugal against Uzbekistan before England face Ghana at 9pm. Panama meet Croatia at midnight and Colombia take on DR Congo at 3am.

Portugal v Uzbekistan - Farrukh Sayfiev Over 1.5 Fouls (17/20)

Farrux Sayfiyev replaced Sherzod Nasrullaev at half-time in Uzbekistan’s defeat to Colombia and there is a fair chance the experienced full-back comes into the side from the start against Portugal.

His likely direct opponent is another player who made an impact from the bench in the opening round. Francisco Conceicao replaced Bernardo Silva against DR Congo and looks well placed to earn a starting role here.

That creates an interesting fouls angle. Conceicao draws 1.79 fouls per 90 and, while full data is not available for every recent Uzbekistan game involving Sayfiyev, the evidence we do have points towards him committing fouls at a higher rate than Conceicao typically wins them.

He committed two fouls in each of the warm-up friendlies and was booked against Canada. Before that, he was booked and then sent off across his previous two international starts.

England v Ghana - Over 18.5 England Shots (59/50)

England’s start to this World Cup could hardly have been more different to Euro 2024. Both campaigns opened with wins, but the performances were miles apart.

The Three Lions managed only five shots in their 1-0 victory over Serbia two years ago. Against Croatia on Wednesday they produced 22 efforts, hit 11 on target and looked sharper as the game wore on.

There was a noticeable difference in intent too. England pressed aggressively, kept attacking and looked determined to set the standards that will be required if they are to end their 60-year wait for a major trophy finally.

They’ve now had 22, 29, 23 and 19 shots across the last four matches.

That should make life difficult for an injury-hit Ghana side that looks well below previous versions. Wales managed 18 shots against them in a recent friendly, while Germany posted 23 in March.

Panama v Croatia - Jose Luis Rodriguez Over 0.5 Shots on Target (12/5)

Panama gave a hint they might be more competitive than expected when they faced Brazil at the end of May. Losing 6-2 is obviously not ideal from a defensive perspective, but they still managed 16 shots, hit nine on target and had enough possession to show they were not overawed.

They were unfortunate to lose to Ghana in their World Cup opener and edged most of the underlying numbers before conceding deep into stoppage time.

This is also not a vintage Croatia side. England had little trouble creating against them and there is a feeling this squad is reaching the end of its cycle.

Panama need a result and should play accordingly. Jose Luis Rodriguez appeals to hit the target at the price given he averages 1.84 shots per 90, while we also have Ismael Diaz up our sleeve as a potential Golden Sub after he replaced Rodriguez and registered two shots on target against Ghana.

Colombia v DR Congo - Chancel Mbemba Over 1.5 Fouls (13/5)

World Cup debutants Uzbekistan struggled badly to contain Luis Diaz on Wednesday night. The Bayern Munich winger finished with a goal and an assist, but just as notably he drew five fouls in another performance built around direct running and constant pressure on defenders.

Uzbekistan’s right centre-back and right wing-back both committed three fouls in that match and DR Congo operate in a similar shape, which should create comparable defensive responsibilities.

Chancel Mbemba is expected to line up on the right side of the back three and already showed some vulnerability in that area after being booked against Portugal.

Against a player as difficult to shut down as Diaz, there will likely be opportunities for Mbemba to rack up multiple fouls.

Accumulator Odds 48/1

This acca is broadly built around situations that occurred in the first round of fixtures and believing there is value in a repeat. Portugal and Colombia both have wide players capable of forcing fouls, England should keep the pressure on from start to finish and Panama may be more adventurous than the market expects.

Combined, the four selections make a 48/1 multi with BetMGM.
