World Cup Accumulator Tips

Day 16 of the 2026 World Cup rounds off Groups G, H and I, with plenty still to be decided before the knockout bracket begins to take shape.

Throughout the tournament, Ben Smith has been providing our 2026 World Cup betting tips with a daily acca using BetMGM odds, focusing on player and team statistics, disciplinary markets, shots and other alternative angles rather than match odds.

It is not just about finishing in the top two. Several nations are battling to secure one of the eight best third-placed spots, meaning goal difference could prove crucial.

France and Norway meet with first place in Group I up for grabs, while Uruguay have work to do against Spain in Group H. Belgium are yet to convince, taking just two points into their final game, and Egypt against Iran also carries qualification implications.

The action gets underway at 8pm UK time, with the final matches starting at 4am.

Norway v France - Erling Haaland to Score (6/4)

We have already seen Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland all score multiple goals on the same day twice at this World Cup in what has become a fascinating race between the tournament's biggest stars.

Messi isn’t in action on Friday, but Mbappe and Haaland go head-to-head as France meet Norway with top spot in Group I on the line. Both sides have already secured qualification with maximum points, but this is comfortably the toughest test either has faced so far.

France have looked increasingly impressive since half-time of their opener against Senegal, although Norway pose a much greater attacking threat than Iraq ever could. Les Bleus had managed just one clean sheet in six matches before that comfortable win.

Haaland, meanwhile, has looked completely at home on the World Cup stage. The Manchester City striker has carried his club form into the tournament and, at odds against, is difficult to ignore to score again.

Spain v Uruguay - Dani Olmo Over 2.5 Shots (5/4)

Uruguay undoubtedly need something from this meeting with Spain, but whether they have the quality to get it is another matter.

They struggled to create clear chances in draws against Saudi Arabia and Cape Verde and have also looked vulnerable defensively. There were already whispers before the tournament that everything was not quite clicking, and that has carried into the group stage.

Spain, by contrast, took a huge step forward in their second outing. Lamine Yamal transformed the attack after returning to the starting XI, while Nico Williams also made an impact from the bench. With those two involved, Spain look much closer to the side that deservedly won Euro 2024.

Even if Uruguay have greater incentive, Spain should still dominate possession and territory. Dani Olmo managed two shots against Saudi Arabia, with three if you benefited from BetMGM's Golden Sub, and averages 2.97 efforts per 90 for Spain. At 5/4, over 2.5 shots appeals.

Cape Verde v Saudi Arabia - Helio Varela Over 1.5 Shots (11/10)

The market can barely split Cape Verde and Saudi Arabia. A point will likely be enough to send Cape Verde through as one of the best third-placed teams on goal difference, while only victory will do for Saudi Arabia.

Having come off the bench to score the equaliser against Uruguay, Helio Varela may have done enough to earn a start here.

That appeals from a shots perspective because he is never shy of having a go. His numbers at both club and international level are encouraging and much of Cape Verde's attacking play comes through the wide areas, where he is most effective.

If he does get the nod from the start, over 1.5 shots looks a more than fair price.

New Zealand v Belgium - Callum McCowatt Over 1.5 Shots (11/10)

If there is one thing we have learned from Belgium's first two matches, it is that they can be got at. Egypt gave them plenty of problems, taking the lead while registering 14 shots and seven corners. Iran were more cautious but still did enough to earn a point against Rudi Garcia's side.

New Zealand have also shown plenty of attacking intent. They have scored three goals from 25 shots across their opening two games and Callum McCowatt has contributed two attempts in each despite being substituted midway through the second half on both occasions.

Those numbers are no surprise given he averages 2.95 shots per 90 at club level.

There should be opportunities against this Belgium defence and McCowatt looks well placed to take advantage if New Zealand continue playing with the same positive mindset.

Accumulator Odds 24/1

This acca is built around players who rarely need an invitation to shoot. Haaland continues to find the net at will, Olmo should see plenty of the ball if Spain dominate, while Varela and McCowatt both look capable of clearing modest lines based on their recent output.

Combined, the four selections make a 24/1 acca with BetMGM.
